Big A and Big Yellow...say goodbye - Click for larger image.Attached is a photo taken a few hours before the famous Big Yellow Wagon's keys were handed over to her new owner.  Over the years, people have called this vehicle many things (The Bananna Boat, The Butter-Creme Dream, etc.) but once a person experienced the Big Yellow, they were sure to agree that above all--it was a pretty cool car.  It was a sad thing to see her roll gently out of the driveway that night, to hear her fan belt crying out to me for the last time, and her one-of-a-kind "tick, tick tick..." as she cruised down 3rd Street.  Minutes later, Uncle John called from his cell phone that the CHECK ENGINE light had gone on at the corner of Spencer and Old 23...yep, it always took about four miles to come on...

I am sad that when I look out the back window, she is no longer there, waiting patiently for me.  But I take comfort in the fact that she is in the hands of a good owner and with the right care she'll continue doing what she knows and likes best...driving Harts (this time the John Hart Family) to and from work day in and day out, attending parties and social functions, always loaded to the gills with people and/or stuff (Don't worry...she's got the heavy-duty dual compression springs).   And she'll live on in our memories.

From my scattered recollections, these were some of the records set:

Most people in:  Somewhere around 12, done twice:
° During an Owosso Tap Room Bar Trip out of Charles Street House (the Estrogen House) at MSU.
° During a certain lady's Bachelorette Party.
Final Mileage: 187000 and still going.
People Serviced: Too numerous to count...
Schools Attended:  4
° Corunna High School
° Cooley Law School
° University of Michigan
° Michigan State University

If anyone has good Yellow Wagon memories, please email me...
