We need to be honest about the fact that conflict simulation is a dying hobby. Most players are in their forties or older. Companies struggle to stay viable, magazines come and go. The only real exchange seems to be on EBAY where we over pay for old MMP editions or The Gamers or worse $300.00 mint copies of "The Longest Day". We need to come together.
We need to bring more people into our hobby. If we love war gaming, we need to proactively fight for it's survival. Maybe we could meet once a month and bring an "unsuspecting" friend. Share our games.
This is just the beginning. I have big plans. With time I'll upgrade this site and move to our own URL. Someday a newsletter. We could even produce our own games.
Listen folks, this will only work if we all come together as a group so e-mail me if you have questions or you want to help. And spread the word! Mike

I recently bought a copy of "The Battle of Lobositz" by GDW. It was one of their Series 120 games: easy rules, 120 counters and a 2 hour play time. These are fun games without the weight of a lot of chrome and yes, sometimes accuracy gets brushed aside for playability and darn big fun. Now the first thing I do after I read the very short rules is check out Web-Grognard for errata and variants etc. Well I read a strategy/review listing and one of the first things the fella says is how he is sure the fog rules are probably fun with two players but as he plays mostly by himself he can't really say.
How many games have you shelved because you had done everything you could do with the game? I have personally re-played SPI's "Alamo" all weekend on my own, convinced our boys could really do it this time. How many of us even remember the thrill of sitting across from someone, looking for their weak points, thinking up your next smart ass remark?
Enough!
WAR DOGS is your chance to have that again. Beer, pretzels, bring your Dad's helmet I won't tell. There is no reason for Tallahassee to miss out on a thriving consim community.
Uncle Mike needs you!
