Who we are: General Information

White Eagle Chapter is part of Tahosa Lodge 383, Denver, CO. It complies with all national policy, regional OA policies, and guidelines set forth by Tahosa. Whenever there is a contradiction in the guidelines, the larger bodies guidelines are to be followed; this means, that should Tahosa's guidelines contradict a National OA policy, National's policy is to be used, and not Tahosa's.

This website is run by youth members of the chapter; this site follows the guidelines of the National OA policy, White Eagle Chapter, and Tahosa Internet Policies and Regulations (TIPR,©1999-2002 ). Purpose of the Order
To recognize those campers- scouts and scouters- who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives and by such recognition cause other campers to conduct themselves in such manner as to warrant such recognition.

To develop and maintain camping traditions and spirit.

To promote Scout camping, which reaches its greatest effectiveness as a part of the unit's camping program, both year-round and in the summer camp, as directed by the camping committee of the council.

To crystallize the Scout habit of helpfulness into a life purpose of leadership in cheerful service to others.

Mission of the lodge
The mission of the lodge is to achieve the purpose of the Order of the Arrow as an integral part of Boy Scouts of America through positive youth leadership under the guidance of selected, capable adults.

Dr. E. Urner Goodman, founder of the Order of the Arrow, stated:
"The Order is a thing of the spirit, rather than of mechanics. Organization, operational procedures, and all that go with them are necessary in any large and growing, but they are not what counts in the end. Things of the Spirit are what count:

Brotherhood- in a day when there is too much hatred at home and abroad

Cheerfulness- in a day when the pessimists have the floor and cynics are popular

Service- in a day when millions are interested in getting or grasping, rather than giving."
