Did you know that no two snowflakes are the same?  Also, all snowflakes (or ice crystals) have six sides.  If the snow fell at a rate of 2 inches per hour, how long would it take until we would have 2 feet of snow?

Design your own snowflake - remember that it must have 6 sides and be symmetric (the same on both sides).

For 4th and 5th graders: Find the rate of snowfall, if it started snowing at 9:00 p.m. and didn't stop until 5:00 a.m. the next morning.  The snow measured 2 feet and it snowed at the same rate throughout the night.
