A
leprechaun found a pot of gold coins. When he made equal piles of
2 coins in each pile, he did not have any coins left over. He
also found out that he could divide it equally into all piles of 3
coins, also all piles of 4 coins, and even all piles of 6 coins without
having any coins left over. But when he tried making piles with 5
coins in each pile, he had 2 coins left over. How many gold coins
were in his pot of gold coins?
Show your work.
For 4th and 5th graders: When he divided the pot of gold coins into
equal piles of 7 coins each, he also had 2 coins left over. How
many gold coins are now in his pot of gold coins?
