I am making a picture frame that is
in the shape of an equilateral triangular. Each side is 7
inches. I decided to glue nickels around the edge of the
triangle. If I place one nickel for each inch, how much will it
cost me to place nickels around the edge?
Hint: I started placing the nickels on the triangle in the picture above. Show your work.
For 4th and 5th grades: I decided that I also wanted to make coasters and cover the entire surface of the triangle with nickels. If the first row had one nickel, the second row had two nickels (as shown above), the third row had three nickels, and so on, how much will it cost me to cover the triange with nickels?
