A Marriageable Young Girl
Marie Ferra
Marie Ferra was born about 1638 in Crevecoeur Le Grand, Creveaux, Picardie, France; the daughter of Jean Ferra and Joinette Hubert.  She arrived in the Quebec Colony as a Filles A Marier, contracted to be the bride of Jacques Jahan Laviolette.  They were married September 24, 1658 in Ville De Quebec.

Jacques was a tanner, born in 1631 at Ville De Blois, Ste Solenne, Chartres Orleans, France; the son of Sebastien Jahan and Jeanne Oudinet.  He and Marie would have eleven children.  Jacques died on April 04, 1699 in the Paris of St. Francois, Ile De Orleans, and Marie followed on February 17, 1713.
The Next Generation
Louise Jahan - Was born on October 04, 1661 in Chateau-Richer but died ten days later.

Jacques Jahan - Was born on February 24, 1663 in Chateau-Richer and died on April 16, 1711 at Ville De Quebec.  He married Anne-Marie Trepanier and the couple had seven children.

Jean Jahan - Was born on May 22, 1665 and died on March 19, 1666 in Chateau-Richer.

Marie Jahan - Was born on February 09, 1668 in Ste-Famille and died on September 26, 1719 in the Parish of St. Francois.  She married Jean-Amable Bilodeau and the couple had at least four children.

Elisabeth-Marie Jahan - Was born on January 19, 1669 and died on April 21, 1670 at Ste-Famille.

Hippolyte Jahan - Was born on March 15, 1671 and died on November 13, 1689 at Ste-Famille.

Jeanne Jahan - Was born on October 07, 1673 and died on August 23, 1689 at Ste-Famille.

Catherine Jahan - Was born on January 30, 1676 in Ste-Famille.  She became a nun, known as Sister Saint-Croix; and died unknown in Notre-Dame Convent, Montreal.

Elisabeth Jahan - Was born on December 03, 1678 and died unknown in Ste-Famille.  She married Pierre Asselin.

Francois Jahan
- Was born on June 14, 1682 and died on May 04, 1699 in Ste-Famille.

Genevieve Jahan - Was born on May 31, 1684 and died on September 16, 1687 in Ste-Famille.
