MINUTES OF INVESTMENT CLUB MEETING

MEMBERS PRESENT: Toni Pinckney, Gretchen DuRant, Greg Joseph, Renee Patterson, Janice Hackney, Nancy Pierre, Deborah Hauges, Sallie Williams, Gay Chestnut, Ike Chestnut

MEMBERS ABSENT: Zandra Coles, Lee Hollie, Preston Younger, Tabatha Williams

MEETING COMMENCED: 3:45 p.m.

  1. Minutes of the January 27, 2002 meeting were read and accepted.

  2. A stock update correction of the minutes was indicated: JNJ was purchased @ $51.00 per share not $55.00

  3. The stock updates were as follows:
    ADCT - Gretchen: Not doing well
    CAKE - Deborah: Doing well - article from The Investment Reporter was read about Cheesecake Factory’s status
    BBBY - Article was read - more stores to open - chain doing well overall
    NOKIA - Company looks favorable - regarding overseas market, China appears favorable
    JNJ - Stock price doing well - new products on and about to enter the market
    GE - Assigned to Ike Chestnut

  4. Better Investing update was tabled until the next meeting.

  5. Financial Statements: End of year tax forms were given to each member -member status and valuation statements were distributed also, the Transaction summary for 1/24/02 - 2/23/02.
    BI March, 2002 article regarding doing your club tax return and club tax instructions were discussed - questions were to be brought to the March meeting.

  6. Stock Contest: Entries were submitted:

  7. Stockwatch: Bring names of companies to next meeting. We will choose a Stock from a master list. Once the stock is chosen, an individual will investigate the stock via quick stock analysis, value line, stock check list and as much as the SSG that can possibly be completed. Compare stock Choice to two other companies in the same industry sector.

  8. Stock Presentation: Renee presented Pfizer, Merck & Schering - Discussion was quite favorable - Pfizer is a blue chip co. and has a drip.

    Deborah Presented COPART - retail specializing in auto parts - annual report being mailed - more information forthcoming.

    A DRIP for Pfizer is being investigated by Janice - minimum of 25 shares to be purchased - info regarding this transaction will be posted on the WIG Website. Paperwork re: transfer of JNJ shares from Ameritrade to JNJ DRIP program is presently underway.

  9. NAIC lnvestfest: April 28th - Virginia and June 22nd - New Orleans
