chocolate chip cookies
Quantity/Servings:    Makes 4 dozen cookies
Ingredients:
2 1/4  cups flour
1  tsp. baking soda
1/2  tsp. salt
1  cup (2 sticks) of butter or margerine
3/4  cup sugar
3/4  cup brown sugar - packed
2  eggs
2  tsp. vanilla
12 oz.  bag of chocolate chips

optional: 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Preparation:
Heat oven. Stir flour with baking soda and salt; set aside. In large mixing bowl, cream butter with sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Blend the other dry mixture into creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chips (and nuts). Drop by tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake: 375 degrees F          9 to 11 minutes or until golden.
Serving Suggestion:
Milk, hot chocolate, or coffee tastes good with these.
