APPLYING TO WEAVER
Thank you for showing an interest in Weaver Craft! In VirtuaPern's version of the Hall, we are located as an annex in the greater Xanadu area, with the main Crafthall at Southern Boll (NPC). VirtuaPern's Weaver Craft also incorporates Tanner and Leather crafting as chosen specialties instead of having them as separate crafts on the game.
There are no mandatory classes at Weaver Hall. The focus is on roleplay as well as completing projects and fulfilling commissions. Being experienced at writing descriptions is not a requirement for joining Weavers. As long as you're willing to work with the more experienced members in improving your skills, we're happy to have you. However, we do require that your character is no younger than 12 turns and no older than 18 turns.
All new members to the Weaver Craft do begin as Probationary Apprentices, but getting promoted to full Apprentice isn't very hard. Information on Weaver Craft's promotion requirements can be found in 'help weaver promotions'. Information about other Weaver polices such as Search and Mentoring, can be found in 'help weaver policies'. Also, don't forget to have a look at 'help weaver rules'.
Weaving, dyeing, sewing - it all takes time and effort. So don't be shy about roleplaying out the creation of items and outfits or even the selling of them. We even have a price list that will help you in your roleplay. It's 'help weaver prices'. But above all -- Be creative! Be spontaneous! Roleplay about an ugly bolt of cloth or even having to add a few thousand sequins to the bodice of a rather large Lady Holder's gown. Pick an aspect of the Weaver Craft and perfect it. Make it your own. The OOC Staff will never discourage you in your efforts, unless you are doing something that is simply not Pernese. It's better to discuss any far flung ideas you may have with the OOC Staff before tossing yourself and your ideas into the fray.
The Weaver Craft currently offers specialties in the following areas:
Beading Braiding Crocheting
Decorative Needle Arts Design/Tailoring Dyeing
General Studies Knitting Leatherwork
Quilting Rug Making Spinning
Tanning Tapestries Tatting
Weaving
