WEARABLE OBJECTS

Clothings items that make use of the ansi color coding via the use of ascii art graphics can still be put on display in the Showroom and sold using the available commands. They can also be created for individual commissions. However, to make it easier for the buyer to actually transfer the description to their wearing message with the color codes intact, rather than having to put them back in his/herself, you can opt to create a wearable object to give to the buyer.

To create a wearable object type: @create #142 named <whatever>

Once the object has been created, you can use the @notedit command to add in the description complete with the color graphic. When the item has been 'sold' from Showroom, have the buyer take the wearable object. They DO NOT need to own it for this to work properly. Simply have the buyer type the following:

don <object>

The buyer will be asked if he/she wants to overwrite his/her current wearing message. If the buyer has his/her current wearing message saved using the @change command (see 'help @change') then the buyer should type 'yes'. If not, have the buyer type 'no' and use @change first. Once the buyer types 'yes', the description of the wearable object will be transferred to his/her wearing message. The buyer can then use @change to save it. Color and all.

After the buyer has saved the description, take back the wearable object and recycle it. Viola! You have just sold your beautiful creation to a satisfied buyer!

You can also use wearable objects for other commissions that don't use color graphics, since they are an easy way to transfer descriptions from one person to another. Just be sure not to clutter up the game too much with these objects.
