Note: This piece was written in 1990, and even then was a shared vision, not my own but that of a good friend--and therefore not written from my own perspective even then. Still, I've grown a lot in the last nine years, and a few of the things I wrote then make me cringe now. (Why was I so hung up on labels that I had to mention the "High Priest" bit? Sheesh! Our primary responsibilities as HP & HPs were to make sure we had enough forks for everyone before heading out into the woods with plans to eat there later!) In my mind, for example, the "Consort" has ceased defining herself in terms of anyone else, and stepped forward into the more active archetypal role of "Warrior." There are several other places where I now take issue with this writing--"can *only* be filled with" ?!?!? But it was an honest piece then, reflecting the person I wanted to be at that time, and it would be a disservice to the woman I was to pretend that she thought as I do now. In fact, it would also be a disservice to who I am now, because I'm kinda proud of the fact that I've grown in the last decade, and hope to continue doing so into the next!

So here's the original version, unedited--even the "High Priest" nonsense. Read with compassion, please! ;)
