Andrew's CASCADE SOUND MARCHING BAND MEMORIES

I was a member of the Cascade High School Marching Band & Color Guard ("Cascade Sound") from 1993 through 1997, all four of my high school years.

Each year started with band camp during the third week of August for 5 days. We would try to learn most of the music and the drill during that time. It was hot and dusty on the camp's dried out grass field, which had ankle turning holes in it, not to mention mice and snakes.

Practices at the school were every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 September through October. This made for a very busy Fall schedule, since I also had tennis every day after school.

COMPETITIONS AND AWARDS

Memories:
Long practices, riding busses, sleeping on gym floors, fast food with friends, potlucks at the school awards ceremonies.

The band won every top award at all 4 state contests.

1995

Band was 2nd overall in State.

1996
Music of the group YES
Band was 3rd overall in State (a very hard show that year).

OUT-OF-STATE TRIPS
Memories: Helping at the Auction and other fundraisers, bus & plane rides, hotel hall guards, lack of sleep, concerts, parades, beaches, theme parks, my parents chaperoning the Florida trip, goofing off with friends.
