Please watch this space for news of interest to Napanee curlers. Often yours truly (in his capacity as club webmaster) receives notices of bonspiels, events, announcements from curling associations and other bits of potentially interesting info. I will place these notices here for a "reasonable" period and will replace them from time to time with more current information. I hope you find this feature useful. If you, as a club member, have a notice you would like to see posted here, please send me an e-mail or contact me directly.

Hello Everyone!

The TV show "
Rock Stars: the World of Curling" will air in Canada tonight,
Tuesday, March 5, on CBC Television at 7:00pm EST. The hour-long, CBC Sports
production was shot in September as a primer for U.S. curling viewers and it
stars Paul Gross, Leslie Nielsen, Colleen Jones and George Karrys. It
originally aired in Dec-Jan. in the U.S. and has been re-edited for Canadian
television. <http://www.cbc.ca/television>

The movie "
Men With Brooms" opens this weekend. Here is a special message
to curlers from Paul Gross. Please promote this 'message to curlers' by
forwarding it by e-mail to everyone you know and/or by printing it and
posting it at your club.

I'd like to thank all of the curlers and curling fans who have been so
helpful and inspirational in the creation of '
Men With Brooms'.  It was a
wonderful experience and a pleasure to be involved in this great sport.

When you see the movie I hope you will agree that there is something to be
proud of about a unique, truly Canadian subject.

Please go see the movie on the opening weekend of March 8, 9 or 10, because
those first three days are critical in building word-of-mouth.  If you enjoy
it, tell a friend, particularly those who think curling isn't cool.

Once again, I offer my sincere and profound thanks for your support.

Best regards,

Paul Gross

Sweeping its way into theatres across Canada March 8th.
Welcome to the world of MEN WITH BROOMS - an outrageously Canadian film of stone and ice. Four old friends dust off their neglected brooms and sweep the past behind them on the road to realizing their late coach’s dream of achieving curling glory.

Canada’s most popular leading man, Paul Gross, makes his motion picture directorial debut in MEN WITH BROOMS. Co-starring with Gross are Molly Parker, James Allodi, Kari Matchett, Michelle Nolden, Peter Outerbridge, Jed Rees, Polly Shannon and Leslie Nielsen.
