ITEM # 1
The deadline approaches for applications to the CCA's Volunteer of the
Year Award. The application forms and criteria can be found at

There are gifts for regional winners and the grand prize to our national
volunteer of the year is an all expense paid trip for two to the last weekend
of the Nokia Brier or Scott Tournament of Hearts.
Last year's winner was Jake Lynka of Penticton, Bc
ITEM # 2
The Continental Cup is just around the corner. The Continental Cup of
Curling is a unique Ryder Cup style of competition that brings together twelve
of the finest men’s and women’s teams in the world. Players will compete in men’s,
women’s and mixed events which will challenge the skills of the world’s premier
shotmakers.

The Sandra Schmirler Olympic Gold
Park Fund is pleased to announce the release of a new book entitled Sharing The Memories (Schmirler Family,
Team & Park). It is a pictorial biography on the life and curling career of
Sandra Schmirler, and how her legacy lives on. This is a limited edition print
run of 2,500 books. It is a soft cover, full color bound book that contains
over 450 photographs, including photos from Sandra’s personal collection.
