Project Ideas

Ideas can come from other publications, Internet sources or activities such as Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4-H Clubs, etc. Parent and child can brainstorm together an idea that the child would like to do. (It could be an area of interest to one or both that could be further explored.  (Check the Science Fair Ideas Pages that are included in this packet.)

If you are not sure whether a project idea is appropriate, please contact the Science and Technology Fair committee before you begin.

Suggestions for Preparing Your Project

·        Explain Your Project: A title and a short paragraph explaining yout project MUST appear with your exhibit. Your paragraph should be well organized, logical, and conclusive. In addition, you must be able to explain your project to viewers.

·        Label Parts of Your Project: Whenever possible, label individual parts of your project. Colored ribbons, string, or tapes could be used to point to specific parts of the project. Charts, graphs, etc. can be effective if they are neatly done.

·        We suggest using free-standing presentation display boards rather than posterboard since there is minimal wall space available.  You can purchase these display boards at the school store for $3.00 while supplies last. Office supply and craft stores stock display boards as well.
