Jessica Capshaw Quotables and Triviables |
Quotes "I got a Cabbage Patch doll from my mom when they were impossible to get. She later told me that she had to buy it off the black market. That was the best!"(When asked by TV Guide Online what was "My daughter (stepdaughter Jessica Capshaw, 26) graduated from Brown University three years ago and I was so inspired that was what got me to initiate all the work I had to do and all the extension courses I had to take." (Steven Spielberg on why he returned to Long
Beach State University after 35 years to earn his Bachelor's of Art degree) "It's like a love story, you're not in love with the person who you're having a sex scene with, but likewise, you're not really afraid of the person stalking you." (Jessica describing why she did not get
scared while filming "Valentine") "I saw it in the daylight and it looked almost funny, sort of, so it wasn't scary at all, but at night it does look scary. It's the audience we need to make scared anyway. That's what counts." (Jessica describing the mask wore by the
killer in "Valentine") "I thought Carrie was genius." (Jessica when asked her favorite horror
movie) Actress Jessica Capshaw blushed sweetly when asked if she'd like to work with her step-dad, Steven Spielberg. "Of course, I'd love it. You want to work with the best. But, I lean toward comedy, because I'm so goofy. So, if he ever did a goofy comedy." (From Liz Smith, New York Post, asked at the
"Back to School Night" charity benefit in September 2000) "Jessica did just a wonderful job on this movie. This was, I think, her first feature film and just a remarkable actress to work with ... really gave so much. And there was so many levels and one of the hardest things my editor and I found was, "Which take do we use?" She does this wonderful thing in Take 4, but you know the beginning of Take 2 so great, I don't want to cut away from her so I can only use one of the others. So it's wonderful when you are placed in that position with an actor. We've got more options than you know what to do with, and we difinitely had a lot of that with Jessica. She's wonderful to work with." (Director Jamie Blanks's comments on Jessica's performance in Valentine [DVD Audio Commentary]) |
Trivia Jessica can trace her genealogy
on her father's side to nine generations, all the way back to a Francis Capshaw from
Scotland in the 17th century. In 1997 Jessica was a guest of
President and First Lady Clinton and slept in the Abraham Lincoln bedroom in the White
House. Jessica was well-seen at
Hollywood events in 2000, attending over 18 premieres, openings, and other public
functions. Variety Magazine ranked her #7 among Hollywood celebrities in making
public appearances that year. Jessica has appeared in two
movies with her mother Kate Capshaw ("The Locusts" and "The Love
Letter"). However, they have never appeared on-screen together in the same
scene. Jessica's first credit in films and television was as an intern on "Schindler's List", directed by her step-father Steven Spielberg. She was 16 years old at the time.
