A/N: This is a romance fic dedicated to the least popular and the least screen time couple: Takashi and Chiharu. I never see any fics for them (mainly because CLAMP doesn’t give too much info about them). They really are a sweet couple. They just aren’t focused on in CCS. Shooting Star by HashBrown A lukewarm summer breeze swirled around her gently. She breathed in deeply the lightly scented perfume of the flowers. The heat of summer grows so strong that it felt like daytime at night. That night, she paced up and down through the park garden, brown braids bobbed with her swaying, waiting for her boyfriend. ‘Hard to believe that me and Takashi-kun were together for 5 years. It didn’t seem possible with me malleting him all the time.’ “Chiharu-chan!” she heard someone call from behind her. She turned to see the happy ever-smiling face of her boyfriend, Takashi Yamazaki. Her spirit lifted. “Yama-kun! You’re late!” Chiharu scolded him. “Gomen Chiharu-chan, but I...” “Save it Yamazaki.” She hurriedly said. She knew another one of his tales are coming and wants to avoid it as quick as possible. Takashi handed her a bouquet of yellow tulips. “I know you love these, so I got these for you.” “Aw. Arigatou. You didn’t have to do that you know.” She accepted it with gratitude. “Yes I did. And I know you enjoy them.” They strolled leisurely around the park garden, holding hands. Basking in the glory of the brisk summer air that just started to cool, the rare silence between the couple, the fragrance of the bouquet, and each other’s company. Although they planned their last 4 anniversaries well, they never planned this one. Perhaps they never thought they would last this long or perhaps they just wanted to be spontaneous. Whatever the reason, there was nothing planned beyond a stroll in the park on a summer night. Their stroll ended up in a clearing upon a grassy hillside. They could see the sky clear from there. The couple rested upon the grass, Chiharu in Takashi’s arms, stargazing. “Wow, I can see the big dipper.” Takashi exclaimed. “Hai,” Chiharu agreed breathlessly, “the sky is a lot clearer up here. You can’t see anything from the street.” Just then, a shooting star streaked across the sky. “Oh! Look! A shooting star!” “Make a wish.” They both closed their eyes. “You know,” Takashi started out. “Wishing upon stars first started in Africa, when they wanted to call upon animal spirits...” “Shut up and make a wish.” And they did. The End That was the shortest fic I have ever did. It was an idea that nagged me throughout math homework and just wouldn’t leave me alone. So I had to write it down. It seems gappy at the end but I don’t really care. Flames are welcome, that’s the only way I’ll learn after all. For the people that only know the sucky dubbed English version of CCS (thus making it CC): Chiharu is Chelsea and Takashi is Zachary. They are boyfriend/girlfriend in the original version and why they didn’t make them that in the English version is beyond me. The reason I wrote this is because if they really didn’t love each other, they would have broken up a long time ago. But they have not broken up yet, I just have to assume that they really like each other but doesn’t express it. He just annoys her and she just mallets him. Simple. Plus, CLAMP doesn’t emphasize this couple as much as they do with Syaoran/Sakura and Touya/Yukito. They just looks so sweet together that I just had to do a fic about them.
