Classroom Expectations, Guidelines, and Procedures
This handout is intended to provide with clarity the
expectations and guidelines necessary to maintain
a favorable teaching
environment.
Rules for Mr. Cap's classroom:
Students must be in their seat before the bell rings
and
begin "doing" history.
Ways
of "doing" history.

1. Open textbook and read the lesson for
this week.
2. Complete homework assignment due
Wednesday. See Lesson
Plan for assignment.
3. Look at pictures and maps in textbook.
Students must stay in their seats at all times.
Students must bring with them to class everyday
their three ring binder, paper, pen, pencil and
textbook.
Students must come to class "prepared for the
day."
Homework completed, chapter reading
completed etc.
Students may not interrupt the teacher in
any way.
If a student has a question they must raise their hand
and be recognized by the teacher before they
ask
the question.
Students will not be allowed to chew gum or
eat
food or candy or drink beverages of any type.
Water is allowed.
Homework is due every Wednesday.
If the homework is corrected in class and a student
forgets to bring it to class then the assignment
is
given a 0%. If the homework is not corrected
in
class then the assignment receives a 10% deduction
for every day that it's late. See
Homework Example.
Students may not work on homework or another
subject
in class unless permission is granted.
Quizzes and 3 & 6 Week Exams.
Students may
use their "handwritten" notes for all quizzes and
all exams except for the Quarter Final and other
pop quizzes Mr. Cap decides to give. You cannot
have typed notes of any type nor use your
neighbor's notes for quizzes and tests.
Students must not talk and must be respectful
during morning pledges, devotions and prayer.
Students who are not in their seat, who don't
bring
their supplies, or need to go to their
locker, or
have to go to the bathroom, or interrupt the teacher,
or chew gum, etc., will be " marked up " in the
grade book. Four mark ups, for any reason, during
a quarter, the student is assigned detention hall.
Each quarter a clean slate will be given to each
student.
Students may appeal to Mr. Cap their "markup"
after class or after school. Any time a student
begs to appeal during class another mark up will
be given.
