From 1865 to 1889, two totally different
            streams of history were emerging
            in Indian Territory.
    1.  Eastern half of the state populated
                        by the 5 civilized tribes.
    2.  Western half dominated by the Plains
             Indian tribes and other Indian groups

    3.  The western half of Indian Territory
        was taken from the 5 civilized tribes as
        a part of the Reconstruction settlement.
