If you
don´t know how to write a meta keywords tag just use the meta tag
generator
here.
Many
people think that the visitors will come when their site is good enough.
This is not true. Even how good your site is, you have to promote it.
But always remember that you should have good content before even
starting to promote your site. Otherways the visitors will leave your
site and not come back.
It is
important to get ranks on search engines to increase your sites's
traffic. But if you got a high ranking on a seldom searched word it
won´t do you much good. Let us say that we have a site that is selling
veteran cars and veteran car parts. My experience tells me that most
webmasters write as many keywords as possible. Their keywords tag would
start something like "veteran, car, parts". The thing is that using
keywords phrases drive more traffic than just using single words.
Knowing that gives us an easy way to improve our meta tags. We just
write "veteran car parts". For the human eye there isn´t a big
difference between the two. But the search engines haven´t developed
human eyes yet.
Now we
know a little bit more about how to write our meta tags, but not which
words we should use. What if everyone searches for "parts for veteran
cars" instead of "veteran car parts". What good will it then do to have
a high rank on "veteran car parts"? Well, there is a freeware called "analogueX
Keyword Live". To find it just do a search for it at
http://www.winfiles.com This application lets you see searches that
are made in realtime. 2 seconds after someone makes a search, it will
popup on your screen.
If you
don´t got a lot of experience of web marketing you should not try to
rank high on the most used keywords. If you try this you will compete
with many thousands of other sites.
An
important thing to get traffic from search engines is to have a
comprehensive list of keyords. When you have run out of keywords from
your own mind, try going to your competitors sites and look at their
keywords. When you have your keyword list ready and have submitted your
url to search engines your goal should be to achieve good rankings. A
good way to improve your placement on the engines is to look at the
keyword startegy for the sites that rank higher. You should also look at
their keywords density in their body and try to make yours something
like theirs. If you don´t have the time or patience to count words on
their sites you would use a free service at:
