Nefarious Azarak lahir tahun 1996. Lama jugak umur band ni. Malangnya setakat ni aku belum lagi mendengar buah tangan penuh dari mereka. Cuma sebuah lagu dari kompilasi Still Supreme.
Membawa deruan Black Metal katanya. Namun black jenis apa tak pastilah pulak. Gothic ke, melodik ke atau brutal atau pure black metal ke. Entahlah. Tengoklah mungkin aku cuba dapatkan demo mereka bila berkesempatan.

From the dust of the living creatures, Nefarious Azarak was born as the eternal idol upon those who are still believed in the black arts. It happen in the year 1996, the year of the beginning of devilish establishment. The demons behind the art of devastation are Count Borghan (lead guitar), Darkest Paq (bass) and Nocturnal Winterstorm (drum). For along time, they walked silently through the realm of gloomy flames until they found their new member, Ajazark Aptness (all voices) in the year 1997. The demonic warrior are now ready to reign supreme again upon the wicked and feeble souls around them. They composed their own hymns and practised for the upcoming battle against the holiness. In the end of year 1998, the dream became a reality. the enchanters had released self title promo tape. Then the saga continues.
In the middle of year 1999, another two wicked and demonic individualist known as Emperor Samathyr (guitar) and Warlord Stygian (synth) joined the dark forces of azarakian enchanters. Nefarious azarak released their advance track 2000. contain 5 hymns of infernal black arts. The advance track got a good review in underground zine and comunities.
Sadly, Count Borghan didn't show any interest anymore and he was replace by Own. Later on, Ajazark Aptness decide he had enough and the vocal was replaced by Adh Infernum.
In May 2003, "Ode of Yearning Sorrow" is finally unleashed to the mortal world. It was a great release yet from Nefarious Azarak or else in Kedah metal scene (in their genre) . And Nefarious Azarak former vocalist- Ajazarkh Aptness contribute his clean voice in "Beyond My Throne of Flames". The hordes stood still as the northern warrior of infernal atmosphere. Get ready for the new era of azarakian mayhemic explosion. This is for real!
....From Blackheart to Black Arts!
The azarakian enchanters are:
Adh Infernum: voice
Emperor Samathyr: guitar
OwnNecroreaper: guitar

If I remember it well, I got their one of their old demo and made a review for the first issue but on that time I was new in using computer. My hard disk crash (thanks to the virus creator. Die in flames!) and did not make any back-up (I do it now!). There are lots of tapes I reviewed but after done reviewing I swapped the tapes. I couldn't remember how they sound like. Well, if they are good, I will not forget about it, right? The band is consist of 6 members (including two guitarists and a keyboardist) and claimed to be playing 'Necrobourganic Dark Atmospheric Extreme Metal'. I have shorter description, 'atmospheric black metal'. 4 tracks are in the demo. The vocalist has a good voice where he sings in both death and black style. If this demo is released when I was doing my first issue, it will have good score. The demo was recorded live. You will hear some mistakes (some are too obvious). "Lights In Abyssia" is a good song but the rest (except for the last track) is a bit mediocre for me. They are good in doing the keyboard and need to be tighter in their playing. The sound is quite good for a demo but they need to have better sound for this type of music. About the last track, it is a bit weird because it is totally in different style. "Gravechild" is a thrash song. Raw and together with the evil vocals, this sounds great in my ears! They admit that the song does not fit with the band's concept so that leave a big '?' in why they include that in this demo. Musically, they are quite promising. I hope they can do it better and professional next time.
