Athotorgh memang best.
Athotorgh formed in the end of year 1989, originally under the name of Anator by Promaster the 3rd, Ge Dreamstone and Valhalla.
Early stages initiated some inevitable line-up changes and after year 1991 Anator R.I.P because of many problem such as misunderstanding between line-up and furthering study.

Review:
This is one hell of a nostalgic black trip to the evil dark days when our forefathers of the original black metal clan, clad in leather and steel, laying down their souls to the godz of rock`n roll with metal tenfold to the deadly black hole. Some people might shunned this, believing that the "old-school" black metal style is a major stepback and are on the verge of becoming a dinosaur by itself. However I would like to differ. In the recent rise of the new wave of black metal music, listening to bands, like Athotorgh, that still stick through thick and thin with the "old-school" way is indeed refreshing, which can be ironical though. Back to the album, you can expect raw and merciless metal onslaught. To describe the album, I can't help but to borrow a quote from Cronos, "...FASTER THAN STEEL...BRAIN HAEMORRHAGE IS THE CURE !!!" From the pure fucking aggressive headbanging of "G.M.F." to the solemn speed riffs of "Promaster Dieyana", venomous riffs blends perfectly with Slayeresque attitude in most songs and this make a perfect tribute to great heroes of the past. Dreamstone shows good proficiency in his guitar performance and the drums and bass sound provide good rhythmic support to Dreamstone guitar assault. Promaster's vocals are not generic, though it stays within the boundaries of archetypal death metal vocals, and his lyrical pronunciation shows some clarity. His vocal style is more of a crossbreed between Kreator's Mille and Unleashed's Johnny Hedlund. Regardless of whether you are into the old school or the new wave, this album is highly recommended to all death/black metal listeners. The only drawback for this album is that it is a MINI-ALBUM with only 5 songs! I hope the Athotorgh trio have something up in their sleeves. In a nutshell, this is indeed a return to the evil and darkness era of the `80's with a sophisticated touch of the `90s metal. Thumbs up to the Athotorgh trio for successfully giving the old school black metal sound, a new sound in the `90s and also in the next millenium, who knows?
