MANGGAS was formed around 1998, and they are Bataris Sangpi handling the drums, C6 hit the bass, Mi with the guitar and Joad playing the guitar and singing. Influence a lot by their ancestor and kuno believer in particular, both thru' music and lyrics.

With this line up, in 1999, they've recorded their first demo entitled "Pengamal Ilmu Kebatinan Kuno" which gained a wide response from local scene (especially Sabah scene). Recorded somewhere in Membakut and contains only two songs which will bleed your body from inside. The demo hits the street and sold out in a short time, and there are still demands on it. MANGGAS had also featured in a compilation tapes and underground magazines.

MANGGAS finally release their second masterpiece "Haus Sarbatus" EP on 31st august 2000 through Disembodied Corpse Productions. It contains 3 brand new songs and 2 re-recorded songs taken from their demo "Pengamal Ilmu Kebatinan Kuno". These 5 tracks will give the idea of what MANGGAS is heading to. It is also a dedication to their ancestors especially Niamit (r.i.p) and also to those who are still believing in the kuno tales.

5 tracks EP. The cassette version is now sold out, only the CD-R version is still available. The label debut release (and the second one I heard). The packaging is like NEUROSIS. I hope they can make it more professional next time. On to the music, MANGGAS plays melodic death metal taking its influence from the Swedish scene. I am not pleased with the sound although the music is quite good. They sing in Malay and that make me like them a bit more. I hope Malaysian band start to take serious about the sound quality even for a demo like this. (taken from seametalforce)
