THE SADNESS OF SATURN
"Doctor," said a metallic voice, "I cannot wait much longer, Germato, you must get pure-heart crystals. If I am to be reborn in another person's body then I need energy from pure hearts SOON!" "Yes Mistress Nine unfortunately the last person I inhabited destroyed all my notes and now I must start over," replied the shadowy figure. "As soon as I get everything set up I will be able to mass produce the daimon seeds and you WILL rise again!" the man laughed maniacally.
Katrina stumbled into her new apartment and flopped down on her bed. Being the mysterious senshi of Earth was not all it was cracked up to be. Those sailor soldiers! I want more than anything to reveal myself outright, but they just wouldn't understand. My motives are different. maybe later. Katrina fell into a deep sleep and didn't wake up until three hours later. Her butterfly locket was ringing an alarm only she could hear, the alarm meant that dark energy was rising and that she should morph and patrol the area her alarm went off loudest.
Neo-Hotaru was walking silently through the palace. Her mother was always so busy, and usually stayed on her planet Saturn. If only Mother came more often, she only comes once a month and she's already visited and that was to teach me how to morph, attack, and control my psychometry. She seems so distant. Something's up, why can't she tell me? Neo-Taru, as she was nicknamed, reached her room. Taru's room was lit up dozens of glass lamps and had a soft glow all about it. The sad princess decided that she would take a nap. Taru's favorite way too get rid of a sad feeling was too sleep it off and so she fell into a deep sleep.
An hour later Hotaru woke up, she still felt sad but a lot less sadder than before. Taru fell off her bed and onto the floor, a dark energy tremor had pushed her down. Taru's body was not like her mother's in fact she was an athlete, but every now and then when the dark energy level went up she had dizzy spells.
"This isn't right, I should transform," said Taru. "Neo Saturn Talisman Power make-up" Hotaru turned into a purple prismatic being, and began to spin. Banners of light exploded out of her locket and disconnected and flew around her she grabbed some banners and let them go and they flew around her arms and became her gloves. Hotaru did a back flip and snagged some more banners with her feet, they entwined around her legs and became her boots the last ribbons flew around her body and became her suit. A blanket of purple light flew over her and she became Saturn and then the blanket twisted up and became her glaive. Saturn's clothes were the same as everyone else's except she had her skirt tie-dyed with the Saturn colors, and she had transparent sleeves. Close-up on face, a stray ribbon blew over her face and when it blew off her face her earrings and the Saturn symbol had formed and then the ribbon flew around her neck glowed and became her choker. Saturn grabbed her glaive, spun one more time and posed. Saturn raced off calling Usa on her crystal communicator, "Daimon alert! Get here ASAP!"
I'm almost there, just run a little longer Neo Sailor Saturn. Don't give up you have to keep the daimon at bay until the others come. Suddenly Saturn saw a daimon that looked like a bird-woman. The monster was singing alluringly like a siren, it sang, "I'll relieve the pain of the weary, the sadness of the miserable, I will procure the thing your heart desires most." For a moment its song enchanted Sailor Saturn. She can make Mama come to me anytime I want, I'll never be lonely again. Suddenly the caw of a crow broke the spell.
"Hey you daimon! You just sang your last song! I am the silence warrior under the new planet Saturn, I am Neo Sailor Saturn!" she shouted. "How charming," squealed the daimon, "Cooooome to mieeeeeeeee my little sweet!" This time Saturn was ready and she attacked, shouting, "Neo Saturn Silence Plug!" immediately a band of purple lightning appeared at the tip of her glaive and flew to the daimon's neck immediately stopping its voice. Saturn then closed her eyes for a moment and concentrated suddenly just as she opened her eyes the original Sailor Saturn appeared not the Saturn her mother morphed into. This was the Saturn who had come as a shadowy image and powered up the outer senshi to their super sailor forms. "Oh, wow!" murmured Neo. Then the shadowy image spoke. "Neo Saturn, the only reason you can't destroy her is your loneliness. Take this carillon and when you need my help ring it." Neo nodded. Then the two gripped hands and shouted, "Double Saturn Silence Blanket!" Purple energy glowed around their hands and grew until they both threw it forward and it hit the daimon, which was destroyed, as it shouted, "Siren!"
The shadowy Saturn spoke again, "Neo if you ever need my help again just ring the carillon before you attack and I will come so we can attack together." Neo Saturn nodded again and said, "Thank you, Saturn." The image jumped backwards and disappeared. Just as the other senshi jumped out. "And here comes the cavalry, late as usual!" shouted Saturn laughingly. "What we're late?" asked Sailor Moon. Saturn nodded.
Suddenly Sailor Earth jumped out and said, "I can bear it no longer! I wish to be a Sailor Senshi and fight side by side with you." "Well what was stopping you last time? Of course you can fight with us!" shouted Moon. Earth smiled and clutched her brooch. Butterflies of light flew off of Sailor Earth and her staff faded away. Seeing the stunned faces of the other senshi she said, "On Earth I am known as Chiba Katrina." "But that's my name," said Sailor Moon. "I know," said Katrina. "In my past life I was Endymion's sister, Princess Gaia. I was reborn under the American name Lakes because my mother was trying to escape our destinies. I have only recently found out who I was and so I go by the name Chiba. I was hesitant to reveal myself before and so I decided to stay under wraps for a while, because I thought you'd be mad at us for hiding from you." "Why would we be mad? We can use all the help we can get right?" asked Sailor Moon, and there was a round of nods from everyone. And so it was settled that the purpled streaked haired senshi of Earth became one of them.
