The Source’s Chamber:
“Seer. Seer where are you?” The Source’s Seer appeared behind The Source. She was a dark woman who wore a red cloak, which came around her arms around her front.
“I am here, Source.”
“Tell me what you see. Tell me of a way to destroy the witches.” The Seer walked to a circle of candles in front of The Source. She closed her eyes. When she reopened them, they were white. The Seer was looking into the future, past and present to give The Source the best advice to destroy the Rowe Coven, to destroy the Charmed Ones. In her vision, she saw fear, sorrow, and anger in the two charmed brothers. Her vision came to the present where fear was already present. Her vision of the past showed nothing but her vision of the future showed great sorrow and anger.
“What did you see?”
The Seer turned around and faced The Source. “You have a choice, Source. I see fear, and anger in the two brothers. There is also great sorrow in the future in them as well.”
“Why?”
“Because the charmed sister will perish.”

Michael sat in his AP European class. As the professor talked of the French Revolution and Joan of Ark, Michael sat thinking about what it would be like if everyone knew he and his brothers are witches. He sat in the back of the class watching everyone taking notes. He looked over at Brad, a boy who always bullied him since middle school. He was in risk of failing the class. Michael thought this a perfect opportunity to get back at him. Who said that things couldn’t just disappear into thin air? Well, it won’t disappear but you won’t see it anymore. He made sure his voice was low enough so that the class wouldn’t hear him. “Pen.” Brad looked at his hands as the pen he held orbed away in a cloud of blue orbs. He looked confused and looked around his desk for the pen. When it orbed into Michael’s hand, the boy next to him looked away as Mike turned his head to see if he was looking. The commotion Brad was making got the attention of the professor.
“When the soldiers of the revolution discovered Joan of Ark was a young woman they burned her. After the…Mr. Scott, is everything all right?”
“Uh, yeah. Everything’s fine.” He went into his backpack and grabbed a pencil. Again? Sure. He’s been bothering me for a few years; I can do this at least once more. He looked to his right to make sure the kid wasn’t looking. “Pencil.” Again, the pencil orbed from Brad’s hand into Michael’s.
I knew I wasn’t crazy. The pencil appeared in his hands.

Luke was in the white-lighter’s plane waiting for a call from Alex or one of his brothers and using his radar to see if one of them uses their power. If they did, it meant they were fighting a demon.
Mike? Better wait to see if something else comes up. He waited and a few seconds later, he felt Michael use his ability again. Something’s going on. I gotta orb down there. He became surrounded by a cloud of blue orbs and disappeared.
---
That was fun. Let’s see who else we could bother. He looked around and saw a girl using a mirror at the other corner of the room. Isn’t it against the rules to use a mirror in class? “Mirror.” It orbed out of the girls hand and started to come down into Michael’s. He closed his hand and let it return to the owner. She looked confused but let it pass with a head shrug.
How is he doing this? He has to be some sort of witch or something. I gotta get this is in the open.
Luke began to orb into the classroom but felt the presence of the other students there. He stayed in his orbed form and hovered just bellow the ceiling. Nothing’s wrong here. He’s just using his powers to entertain himself. I gotta find Alex and Jackie. He orbed out of the room and into the hallway nearest he felt Alex’s presence. He walked and looked in every door in that hallway looking for Alex. He found him and thought of a way to get his attention. Maybe I could cloak myself if I channel enough energy. He began to concentrate and soon saw he was invisible. He orbed into the classroom and went over to where Alex was sitting taking notes.
Alex felt something grab his hand trying to take away his pen. He finally gave it up and saw the words forming on the paper.
It’s Luke. Freeze the class and
get out of this room. I’ll see you
out in the hall.
Alex thought to himself. Will I be able to freeze the entire room? Here goes nothing. He gestured quickly to both sides of the room and everything froze but in a few seconds, it all became normal. Damn. A spell. Maybe I could use a spell to freeze them longer. At least long enough to see what Luke needs. Alex thought to himself, picking his words for the spell he was about to cast.
“Umm…
“Michael is exposing himself as a witch.”
“What? How do you know?”
“I saw him. Look, go find him and I’ll go get Jackie. Find a way to stop him and make sure no one leaves that room. I’ll use Memory Dust on the people in that room.”
“Why are you going to get Jackie?”
“Memory Dust isn’t always that successful. If it doesn’t work, you’ll need the three of you to erase the memories of all those people.”
“I did it alone before.”
“Your powers were expanded then. Go find him now.” Luke orbed to find Jackie and Alex went to fix what Michael was doing.
---
Jackie was out of class and walked by the cafeteria as she headed to the bathroom. Why did he start a job here so late? When she left the bathroom, she passed the cafeteria again and bumped into that guy. When he touched her, she saw images in her mind. First was the manor. In the manor Alex and Michael were using their powers against each other. The next image was a car accident but there was no image of a victim. Then was an image of the Book of Shadows. It was different. The trinity was broken into three pieces. The last image was of a demon with a red energy ball in his hand. When the visions stopped and she opened her eyes, she saw Luke standing in front of her.
“Luke. Where did you come from?”
“We got trouble. Follow me.”
---
Alex got to the room Michael was in and looked inside. He was surrounded by people and was orbing things around the room. Michael, I can’t believe you’re doing this. I might need to do this again so I’ll have to break that last spell. Umm…
“Just having some fun, what’s the big deal?”
“The big deal is someone could talk and we could be exposed.”
The room unfroze again. “Damn compressed powers.” He gestured at them again and again they were frozen. “What the hell were you thinking?”
“Look, it’s all right. Nothing is going to happen.”
“How do you know that? We could be killed Michael, what then?”
“Don’t yell at me. Just because you’re my older brother doesn’t mean you could just yell at me all you want.”
“You’re not…” Everyone unfroze again. He was furious. “Shit.” He froze them again. “You’re not thinking. Michael, if someone in here outs you they might hunt you down. They’ll kill you, Mike, kill you.” He tried to calm himself down. “Mike, Luke told us that keeping our secret is the most important thing. You can’t go around telling people you’re a witch. Do you want to die Michael? Do you want someone to kill me or Jackie?” Michael looked up quickly at Alex. Then he looked away and stayed quiet. “Everything’s different now, Mike. Especially now that we have this whole destiny of fighting demons and crap we have to be more careful with everything we do.”
Luke and Jackie walked in through the room. “Alex, use that spell you used before to freeze them for a longer time.”
“What spell?”
“One I made up in math to amplify the power to freeze for a sec. It took a lot of energy and I just wasted some more yelling at you so I’m not sure I’ll be able to pull it off again.”
Jackie looked at Alex. “You were yelling at him?”
Luke walked up to Alex. “Just concentrate. Your powers are linked to your emotions; that’s why they haven’t unfroze yet. So use the fury you had for Michael a few seconds ago and cast it again.”
Alex closed his eyes and thought of the conversation he just had with Mike. What the hell are you doing… Having some fun… You’re not thinking… Nothing’s going to happen… You’re not thinking… Don’t yell at me. He started to feel angry again and did what Luke said. He used that anger to power the spell.
“Luke, what are you doing?”
“Avoid using that type of spell. It’s like using your power while they are expanded and at this point you can’t handle it. That’s why you’re bleeding.”
Michael walked over to Luke. “So what do we do?”
Luke looked at him. Michael saw he was mad. It looked like he was going to explode in his face. “Well, I break the rules and use Memory Dust on them.”
Jackie spoke up. “Memory Dust?”
“It erases short term memory. It’s only to be used in dire emergency because you never know what you could be erasing: appointments, a child’s birthday. Basically anything that they know could be happening in the next and everything they know what happened in the last couple of days.”
“But Luke this is an emergency. What if someone squeals and we’re killed? You have to do it Luke.”
Luke looked upset, more upset at Michael than anyone else. He let out a sigh and went over to where Michael was before. He held his hand so that they were pointed at the crowd of people. “Forget.” The yellow light that glowed when he was healing someone appeared. It shined on everybody’s face. In the light, golden dust could be seen. After Luke did his thing, he went over to Alex and Jackie and took them to the door of the room. “They won’t remember, hopefully. Michael, go where you was before.” Michael went over to the chair he sat at when Alex came in. “Alex, undo the spell.” Alex said the counter spell and the room became unfrozen. The people looked at Michael in confusion then began to return their seats. When Alex, Jackie, and Luke saw that everything was normal, they left the room and returned to class.
Jackie thought to herself as she walked in the hallway. Could the argument Alex and Mike just had have been the argument in that vision? Was that even a vision? Maybe… maybe it was just my mind playing tricks on me.
---
A Few Days Later:
Jackie and Alex left their class after the bell had rung and went to catch Michael at his locker. It has been more than a week and they haven’t seen another demon ever since they vanquished Eames.
“Are you still mad at him for what he did?”
“No. Not anymore but I still can’t believe he did that. I’m trying not to think about it because I don’t want to be angry with him.”
“Alex, come on. You can’t tell me you haven’t thought about it.”
“Yeah, I know. That’s why I don’t want to be mad. But he went through with it Jackie. He risked it even though he knew what could happen.” They walked in silence for a couple of more seconds. Jackie regretted asking that question but couldn’t think of anything but the vision she had of Alex and Michael fighting. She didn’t tell them any of it. “Coming to lunch today?” She waited for an answer but one never came. “Oh come on. You haven’t gone the entire week. You coming or not?”
They were closing in on Mike’s locker and saw him put his books away. “I don’t know. Ever since I became a witch I felt something wrong with that cafeteria.”
Jackie just took this to be an excuse. “I can’t believe you’re using that as an excuse now.” They reached Michael’s locker and saw him throw his last book in there. He swung his book bag over and put it on. “So you’re not coming?”
“What, again? Today’s the fifth day you don’t go to lunch.” They left Mike’s locker and went to Alex’s.
“All right. Since it’s Friday, I’ll go to lunch.” They got to his locker and he started to put his books away.
Michael walked over to stand next to Alex and asked him, “So why haven’t you gone to lunch all week? Still angry?”
“No Mike. That’s not it.”
He was going to finish explaining but Jackie didn’t let him. “He thinks there’s a demon in the cafeteria.” She started laughing.
“I didn’t say that.”
“A demon?” Michael started laughing as well until he thought of what he was laughing about. “You know what? In this family, not that funny.”
“Oh come on. You don’t actually believe something’s going on in there, do you? I would’ve had a premonition by now.”
Alex finished and they went to Jackie’s locker. “Have you even had a premonition yet?” Jackie stopped to think. Maybe that vision was a premonition. She wasn’t sure so she said, “No. But there isn’t nothing going on in the lunchroom.”
“That means there is.”
Jackie looked at Mike. “What?”
“There ‘isn’t nothing’ means ‘is something’. Double negative.”
“Just shut up. You know what I mean.” They got to Jackie’s locker and she started to put her things away.
“So Mike, how are things with your mom?” Alex was worried because the last couple days, Michael and his mom have been a little shaky.
“Better, I guess. Wonder how she’ll react when I tell her everything.”
Jackie looked up at Alex then at Mike. “You’re going to tell her?”
“Yeah. Didn’t you?”
“No Mike. Look, the face that we are witches is something that we have to keep to ourselves. It’s our secret. It’s not just mine or yours to tell. The three of us have to respect that and not tell anyone. If we did, we could be in a life and death situation.”
“She’s right Mike. We can’t tell anyone. Not even our parents.”
“Yeah. Yeah I guess you’re right. Sorry.”
“Don’t apologize. Just don’t say anything.”
---
They went to sit at their seats in the lunchroom and saw someone already sitting there who never ate lunch in the school before.
“What are you doing here?” At the table was Alex and Michael’s friend, Chris. He never ate lunch because he always spent his time studying during lunch.
“Didn’t have anything to study today. Anyway schools almost over and I want to have lunch here at least once before the year ends.” The three of them sat down and took their lunches out of their bags. “Have you guys ever seen that man before?” He looked at the guy that bumped into Jackie a couple of days ago.
“Yeah. He started working here last week. Why?”
“I don’t know. Whenever I walk by him, there’s something… I dunno, cold about him.”
Jackie looked over at the man and realized who he was. “I don’t have lunch today so I’m gonna go buy it. Be back in a sec.” She walked over to the lunch line and waited to get her lunch. When she reached the end of the line, she bumped into that man again. Again, the visions came to her. They were in the same order. That had to be a premonition. I had it again. I have to tell them now. She walked over to Alex and Michael.
“What happened, where’s your lunch?”
She looked at Chris as a way of telling her brothers he couldn’t hear this. Alex looked at Mike and from the look Mike received, he knew he was being told that they had to get out without Chris knowing why or a way he would go deaf for a few seconds.
“No Alex, to risky.”
Chris looked at Michael. “What’s to risky?”
“Nothing.” He got up. “We’ll see you later, Chris.” Alex got up and the three of them left the cafeteria. Chris followed close behind. “Where are you guys going?”
Jackie was frustrated. “Chris, go eat your lunch. We’ll see you later.” They looked for a room that was empty. They found one of the rooms dark and the door open. When they went inside, they looked around to make sure that no one was in there.
“All right. No one is here. What’s wrong Jackie?”
“I…I had a premonition.”
“A premonition? When?”
“When I went to grab my lunch, I bumped into that new guy and had a vision. It was different images that flashed in my head.”
Alex went to sit down next to her. “What were they?” She didn’t know how to explain. After a few seconds of silence, Michael went to sit on her other side and asked the question again. “What did you see Jackie? Just explain what you saw.”
“I saw the manor. There was also a car accident…”
Michael looked up. “Did you see a victim?”
“No. Then there was an image of the book of shadows. It was different. The trinity was broken into three pieces. The last thing I saw was of a demon with a red energy ball in his hand.” She decided to leave out the part with the fighting out not wanting to make things between them worse.
“So we don’t know who our innocent is but we have a demon. Do you guys think we should call Luke?”
“I don’t know Mike, maybe we should wait till we get home. What do you think, Jackie?”
“We should leave now. We have to make an excuse or something but we need to get to the Book of Shadows.”
