Hold On To The Inside - Fifteen

"And just what do you mean?" JC growls. "Don't you dare tell me I can't leave."

"Well...I'm sorry but I can't, in good conscience, let you leave."

"Why?" Justin asks.

"Because, she has a very mild case of preeclampsia and if we treat it now, the babies will be fine. If I let her...you," he looks to JC. "If I let you go home, you could all die."

"So...I have to stay here?"

"We would prefer if you stay so we can try and deal with this."

"Wait....Did you say babies?" Justin stammers.

"Um...yeah....I did." The doctor states. "I know you didn't wanna know the sex but..." JC blushes, "They did one a couple days ago J."

"Well, why didn't you tell me?"

"I'm sorry, I thought Lance told you. He was here when they came to get me for it."

"I'm so going to kick me a Bass ass."

"J with all the shit that's been going on, you can't really blame him for not remembering that. Leave him be."

"So...I hate to interupt and all but...Do you plan on staying or not Miss Chasez?"

"Can I go home for a couple of days and then come back in? I'd really just like to go home for a bit. I'll come in for tests or whatever but I can't stay here. I'm gonna go insane."

"I don't know..." The doctor sighs.

"I'll keep her in bed, I promise she won't be running around all over the place." Justin chimes in.

"It's not just that. You have to promise to drink an excessive amount of water. Not juice, milk, or alcohol. It must be water. You have to stimulate your kidneys." The doctor looks JC in the eyes, "And you have to come in every other day. If I don't like what I find, I'm putting your ass back in here so fast it will make your head swim."

"Thank you doctor. Thank you so much," JC smiles.

"I mean it. I want to see you every other day."

"You will, I promise. And I'll drink so much water, I'll have to live in the bathroom."

"That might actually help."

Justin walks with the doctor to the door, "She's gonna be back in here by the end of the week isn't she?"

"Yes." The doctor looks back at JC, "But how could I turn her down? She looked so upset and that's the last thing she needs right now."

"What can I do? Is there anything that can be done?"

"Just keep her calm. She's already a high risk, with the vomitting and now that we know she having twins. This just makes it that much worse."

"Calm, I think I can do that. Thank you for letting her go home for a couple of days."

"Just take care of her. I don't want her to come back any worse than she's leaving." The doctor looks at Justin, "And if she passes out again, get her in here right away. It might not just be her metabolism."

"You got it doc." Justin smiles.

***The next morning***

"Finally, I'm out of here." JC yells as he walks out the front door of the hospital.

Justin smiles, "It's good to see him so happy." He whispers to Lance. "To bad it's not gonna last."

"What do you mean?" Lance asks.

"Doc said he'd more than likely be back in the hospital by the end of the week."

"Why?" Chris asks coming over.

"He's got a mild case of preeclampsia. The doc just let him out...Hell I don't know what the doctor was thinking."

"Well...I can understand why the doctor let him out if he pulled that pout he's been displaying lately. I'd give up my first born son, and I don't even have one." Lance states.

"You better keep your hands off," Justin warns.

"Whoa. Relax J, I was kidding."

"Good," Justin smiles. "Sorry."

"It's cool man, you got a lot of shit to deal with. It's understandable." Chris says.

"I'm not the one with all the crap to deal with. Just think of what all this is doing to him." Justin states watching JC.

"No kidding. It's a miracle he's still sane." Lance states.

"I just hope that he doesn't lose it when the doctor tells him he has to stay when he goes back for the testing."

"No kidding, that won't be a good day." Chris states, "What can we do to make it a bit better for him? Is there anything?"

"We just gotta make sure he drinks plenty of water. He can't have anything but water to drink." Justin replies. "But even with that, he'll probably still be back in the hospital in two days."

"This sucks. I can't imagine having to sit in a hospital for 7 months. We gotta figure out how to make it better for him." Chris mumbles.

"Hey, you think they'd mind if we brought his keyboard and computer in?" Lance suggests, "Then at least he can work on some songs or something."

"Good thinking. Come on we gotta get him home and back into bed." Justin says. "We can talk about this later, after she's asleep."
