***A Month Later***
"Justin?" JC starts.
"Yeah, baby?"
"Could you do something for me?"
"Anything."
"Get my lawyer in here. I gotta make sure JC has custody of the babies."
Justin glances around the room, "Honey, you are JC."
"Yeah, but 'they' don't know that. They think I'm Rose Chasez."
"Ok, so who are you gonna say is the father of the babies?"
"I'm gonna use the father's name J. Who elses name would I use?"
"You could use JC as the father."
"You mean, Rose as the mother and Josh as the father?"
"Yes. Why not?"
"That's a good idea. I never thought of that. Why didn't we get together before all this shit happened?"
"I don't know. Probably because I had my head up my ass." Justin smiles and pulls JC into a hug.
The doctor walks in, "So...How's my patient today?"
"I'm doing ok, I guess." JC states.
"Good, that's good to hear. Gotta run somemore tests then I'll leave you two to yourselves."
"No rush, that's cool. Not like we got much else to do."
"Hey, you make it a few more months and then you won't be bored anymore. You two better enjoy the quiet while you can."
"Why?" Justin asks.
"Well...most couples have a hard time with one child. You two have twins coming. That means double the feedings, double the dirty diapers, double the crying."
"Yeah, but it also means, hopefully, two beautiful babies." Justin states.
"Have you made any preparations for them?"
"What do you mean?" JC asks.
"Do you have cribs, diapers, clothes...anything along those lines for them?"
"Shit..." Justin says.
"J...relax. Mom has been eyeing stuff since she found out. She's already got everything picked out."
"Really?"
"Yes. She's waiting to find out if they are boys, girls or one of each. Then she's gonna go to work."
"Yeah, I guess if it were my mom she'd have already bought it all."
"Have you two picked out any names yet?"
Justin looks at JC and smiles, "Yeah, we've come up with a couple."
"That's good to hear. Well I'm off. I'll be back to check on you later." The doctor states and walks out the door.
"He's cool."
"Yeah. So now what do we do?" Justin asks.
"How about you entertain us?" Chris says walking in with Lance, Karen, Tyler and Heather.
"Hey," JC smiles. "You're back. Tyler? Heather? What are you guys doing here? Shouldn't you be in school?"
"We're only here for the weekend man, chill." Tyler states. "You know I had to come see my brother. It's not like this happens to everybody you know?"
"Yeah, yeah." JC smiles as Tyler hugs him.
Tyler steps back and Heather steps up, "I always wanted an older sister. Never thought I'd have both in one person."
"Ok, you two." Karen reprimands. "Quit harrassing your brother."
"Um...mom?" JC stammers.
"Yeah?"
"You need to call me your daughter around here."
"Oh, yeah. I guess I probably should."
"So....Mrs. C? How long you guys gonna be in town for?" Justin asks.
"I'm here for as long as you two need me."
"That's cool. Thanks for coming mom." JC smiles.
"Hey," Chris starts. "What are we? Chopped liver?"
"No, but you've been in and out for the past month. I haven't seen mom since the first time I was in here." JC states.
"It's cool Jayce." Lance slaps Chris in the back of the head.
"So how are you doing?" Karen asks.
"Doc says I'm doing good. Haven't gotten any worse."
"So...they won't induce the labor unless something goes wrong right?"
"Right. He wants me to carry them as long as possible. Gotta make it at least 3 more weeks. Anything after that will make the babies that much stronger."
"What are the odds of you making it to full-term?"
"Not likely. He doesn't think I'll make it much farther than 7 months."
"Really? Will the babies be able to make it if you only go that far?"
"Everything is fully developed by 28 weeks, it's just not in that great of working order yet. They'll be touch and go for a long time more than likely. I'm doing everything I can to make sure these little guys get to stay as long as possible."
Justin wipes the tear from JC's cheek, "We know you are baby. Calm down."
JC takes a deep breath, "Sorry. Get a little emotional now."
"Don't worry about it son. We can understand."
The nurse walks in, "Time for your donation missy."
"Oh, goody." JC smiles, "You know I've just been lying here waiting anxiously for you to come in and see me again."
