JC's Story - Chapter Fifteen

"Is this the address?" JC asks.

"Yeah, this is the place." Kevin answers.

"Lets go." Ashlyn says as she jumps out of the jeep.

The five of them climb out and head to the door of a very beat up looking trailer house.

knock, knock

"Who's there?"

"It's Kevin Richardson. I'm here to see Duncan Johnathon Scott. He should be expecting me."

"He'll be there in a minute, just hold on."

(Ok, what the hell was that? This is going to be interesting. They won't even open the door. Great. I can't wait for this. Ok, smile idiot the door is opening.)

"Hello? I'm Duncan. What can I do for you folks?"

"Well. I'm Kevin and this is JC, Ashlyn, Allison, Alexis, Nick and Lance." Kevin states \as he points to each person\. "We had a friend of ours contact you earlier."

"Ah, yes. Kyle. Nice man. He said you would be coming by. Please come in."

"Thank you," JC said quietly.

They all enter the small trailer, following closely behind Duncan.

Kevin whispers to JC, "I hope we made the right decision coming here. This place looks like a hell-hole. We need to watch the girls."

"We just have to keep them safe. They're smart. Anything happens they'll known to get the hell out of Dodge." JC whispers back. "God, what is that smell?" (It smells like shit in here.)

{Nick: Man, what is that God, awful smell? This place reaks and I feel like I'm intruding. I wonder what Lance is thinking? Well, by that face, that awful smell must have finally reached him. Shit. He looks like he's gonna get sick.}

"Lance? Are you ok? You don't look so great?" JC asks concern in his voice.

"I think I'm gonna be sick," Lance whispers.

"Why don't you wait outside? I think we'll be ok. Why don't you take Nick with you? He looks almost as bad as you do." JC says with a smile.

"Yeah, he does. Hey. Nick?"

"Yeah, Lance. What's up?" Nick responds.

"You want to wait outside with me? I don't think I can handle that smell for much longer."

"Sure. I don't think I can either. Kev. I'm gonna wait outside with Lance. You let us know if you need us ok, babe." Nick says as he kisses Kevin on the cheek.

"Alright. You take care of him Lance."

"I will. I'll see you in a few Jayce. I'll be right outside if you need me. Ok?"

"Ok. Love you."

"Love you too, baby."

Lance and Nick leave as quickly as they can mumbling something about forgetting something in the car. Duncan is eyeing JC and Kevin strangely.

{Duncan: Hmm, well looks like I got a couple of fags for sons. Great. Now what? I don't want or need these damn kids in my life. What the hell do they want? And look at them girls. Look like a bunch of sluts to me. God. How long do I have to put up with them? Should have told that damn man no about this meeting. Man, I need a beer.}

There is one very small sofa in the living room so JC and Kevin stand to let the girls sit. Duncan immediately walks over sits down and sprawls across it so there is no room for anyone else on it.

JC looks at Kevin and they both raise their eyebrows. They are about to say something when a woman walks into the room and says, "Honey, you should let the girls sit down."

"Fuck that shit. They're younger than I am. They can stand." Duncan bellows. \JC and Kevin both step forward.\ "What? You fairies don't like that? Well, tuff shit. This is my house and I'll do as I please."

"Well. If that is the way you feel about Josh and Kevin then why did you agree to meet with us?" Allison asks.

"Well, my dear. At the time I didn't know that they were FAGS. If I had I wouldn't have agreed to meet with them or with you three little sluts."

"Now. You just hold on one damn minute." Kevin states. "How can you say something about them like that? You don't know a thing about any of us. You see our friends kiss us on the cheek and you automatically assume that we're Fags AND that they're sluts. Who the hell do you think you are?"

"I think I am the man that owns this house and you will respect me while you are in it." Duncan responds coldly.

"Oh, No you don't. You can't just expect us to respect you. Not after you gave us up. Not after you treated us worse than dog shit. You will never get any respect from me or any of us." Allison yells.

"What about the rest of you? You feel the same way?" Duncan asks.

JC looks up with fire in his eyes and says, "I'm going to say this once and only once. I'm pretty sure I speak for all of this when I say this. Don't you ever come near any of us ever again. When you see Kevin or I on TV and think, 'Hmm. Those are my boys.' Don't because we are not your children. You left us to fend for ourselves and didn't even look back. I have been looking forward to this day so I could meet you. If I had known you were a no-good-piece-of-shit-worthless-lump-of-a-bastard I would never have insisted on finding you and dragging these wonderful women to meet your sorry ass. You disgust me and I never, ever want to see or hear from you again."

"Well, I guess you don't like me either. Pretty full of yourself aren't you little man?" Duncan smirks.

"You leave my little brother alone." Alexis threatens.

"Or what, little girl? What are you gonna do to me? Hmm?"

"Leave them alone! Just stop!!" Ashlyn cries and buries her head in JC's shoulder.

"Oh, look the baby girl is crying. Poor little baby."

"Duncan! I think that is enough!" the woman says from her place in the kitchen.

"Shut up BITCH. I didn't ask you for your opinion."

Kevin walks over and very calmly punches him square in the nose. "Don't you ever talk to my sisters or mother in that way ever again. Do I make myself clear?"

"Whooo. You got some spunk in you there boy. But that bitch ain't your ma. She thought she was better than me and left me when that one over there \points to JC\ was only two weeks old. I had to raise you little brats all by myself."

"You didn't raise them by yourself. I was there." the woman says quietly.

"Look, if you don't stop talking I'm gonna put you in your place Katherine. I swear. You women all think the same thing. That's why I left the last woman I was with. What was her name any way? Hmm. Ah yes, Britt. Yeah. Man. I miss her. At least she didn't try to tell me what to do all the time."

"Great. So now we gotta try and find our mother. Any of those papers you got tell us what her name was Kevin?" Allison asks rather briskly.

"No. They don't say anything about her." Kevin answers.

Duncan gets up and walks to the back of the trailer. "Show these brats out woman. I'm done talking to them."

"Yes, dear." She answers. Katherine waits until he is in the bedroom and has the door shut, then looks at Kevin and says,"Your mother's name is Anya. I don't know where she is now, but last I heard she was in Texas. I'm sorry I can't help you anymore than that. I wish I could. You better leave now. I'm sorry he was so rude to you. Goodbye."

"Goodbye." JC says and hands her a piece of paper. "If you ever need a place to stay or to get away for a while. It's not my house but a friend's. She'll help you if you need it. Please don't stay with that man. He is dangerous."

"Thank you for your concern but it's truly not necessary. I am already leaving. I'm just here today to pack up my stuff. You boys really are sweet. I'm sorry I didn't get to talk to you more but I have to go and I would suggest you do the same." Katherine states as she checks over her shoulder several times.

"Come on Jayce. We gotta go. Lance and Nick are waiting." Kevin says as he pulls JC's arm. "Thank you for the information. Take care of yourself Katherine."

"Thank you and you all take care." She says.

They walk out the door and JC pats Kevin on the back, "Nice left hook there bro."

Kevin laughs, "I really don't think he was expecting that."

"Nope, you got him good bro." Ashlyn laughs.

They are all laughing hard by the time they get to the car. Lance and Nick look at each other, "Ok, what did we miss?"

"We'll tell you on the way home." JC says.
