I wake up and look at the clock on the nightstand. "Shit, no use in going back to sleep now." I get up, go to the bathroom and then walk out on to the balcony.

I must have stood out there, staring at the horizon for at least an hour when I hear a tried voice from the doorway, "Mark? What you doing out here?"

"Couldn't sleep and didn't want to wake you so I came out here to think."

He stands there for a minute before asking, "Mind some company?"

I turn half way and lift one arm off the balcony railing, "I'd love some."

JC smiles and moves next to me. I step behind him and put one hand on either side of him on the railing. He looks out where I had been looking and smiles, "It's beautiful out here."

I watch his face for a few minutes without saying anything.

He turns his face towards me, "What?"

"Nothing, just admiring the view."

He lets out a small laugh, "That line work very often?"

"Not really. Haven't used it very often though."

"Really? I figured you'd have had plenty of chances for those cheesy lines."

"Just because the opportunity is there doesn't mean I had to take it. Besides, the same could be said for you. If not more so."

"No thanks, I'm not willing to go to jail just to get laid. Least your fanbase is old enough it wouldn't get your ass thrown in jail to sleep with one of them."

He leans his head back against my shoulder. "Let's talk about something else."

"Sounds good to me. So what is Operations up to?"

"What do you mean?" JC looks up at me.

"What did he mean when he said he wanted you to get 'close' to me?"

"I'm not all that sure but I plan on taking full advantage of the idea. Not that if he had told me to stay away from you, I would have listened anyway."

"So what are you saying?"

"I'm saying," he turns and faces me. "That I really like you and nothing that man could have said or could do would stop me from getting as close to you as possible. There is only one person who could do that."

I raise an eyebrow, "And who would that be?"

"You."

"Well, I don't think you have anyone stopping you then cuz I'd like to get as close as possible to you." To imphasize my point I pull him into me and bring my lips down on his.

He pulls back, takes a breath, "I'm liking that idea."

"What say we go back to bed?"

"I thought you said you couldn't sleep?" JC cocks an eyebrow at me.

"I think I can find something to do with myself."
