In The Name Of Charity - Chapter Three

JC got off the plane in Orlando. (Ok, now did he say he was meeting me here or having someone pick me up? Shit I should really write this shit down.)

AJ was leaning against the wall, well out of the way of anyone who may notice or recognize him. When he saw JC get off the plane his heart leapt into his throat. He stood there and watched for a few minutes as JC looked around, shrugged and started heading towards the baggage claim area. It was early enough in the morning that there weren’t too many people that would create havoc in the airport if someone recognized either one of them. AJ watched as JC stopped and signed an autograph for a girl in a wheelchair. AJ could see the smile from where he was and figured it would be a good idea to make his presence known before he had to walk by the same girl. He knew he’s loose JC in the time it took to get the autograph signed and then get down to the baggage claim area.

AJ walked up, put a hand on JC’s shoulder, “Hey, fancy meeting you in a place like this.”

JC spun around, expecting anything but a smiling Backstreet Boy, “Man, you scared the crap out of me.”

“Sorry man, didn’t mean to. Just wanted to let you know where I was. Didn’t want you thinking I didn’t show.”

“Nah, I was gonna call you from baggage claim, if I hadn’t found you by then.”

“That’s cool. Should we get out of here before the press sees us and makes it their mission in life to find out why a Backstreet Boy and a Nsyncer are hanging out at the airport together?”

JC smiled, “Yeah, that probably wouldn’t be a good idea. I don’t think either one of our management teams are ready for that.”

Aj’s eyebrow shot up as JC began pulling gats off the conveyor belt. “What you moving in or something?”

“What? I only brought one bag of clothes, which is right here.” JC pats the bag by his side, the rest of this stuff is for ‘your’ charity. So I suggest you rethink that question.”

“Ready,” AJ asked, blushing.

“Yep. Got em all.” JC stated smiling and picking up the bags.

“Here, let me get one of those for you.”

“No thanks, I got it.” JC states and pushes past AJ. “Where’s the car?”

“Um…ok. Follow me.” AJ says, puzzled. (Damn, what the hell is up with that, he’s still gorgeous though and check out those arms.) He led the way to his car, JC dumped the bags in the trunk, then they both got into the car. The whole time they walked to the car JC had this big ass grin on his face.

They ride in silence for a while JC humming quietly along with the radio, still wearing that stupid grin. AJ looks over and shakes his head. (Damn, what is with him? That smile is going to drive me nuts.)

“Can I ask you a question?” JC asks.

“Sure, what’s up?”

“Why am I here?” JC raises his eyebrow.

“What? You’re here to attend Howie’s charity. I could have sworn that was what I asked you to come down here for.”

“True, but why am I staying at your place instead of in a hotel?” The smug smile again.

“Well,” AJ started, clearly at a lose for words. “Um..I…I thought you’d rather stay in my home than in some hotel. Figured you’d be kinda tired of sleeping in those damn things.”

Mmmmhmmm. Actually, I am. But I don’t think that’s the only reason you want me to stay with you.”

“What are you saying? Why do ‘you’ think I’d want you to stay at my house?’

“I’m not saying anything. I just wanna know why a member of the ‘Backstreet Boys’ is asking ‘me’ a member of Nsync to stay in their house. It just doesn’t make sense.”

“I know it doesn’t, but can’t a guy just be nice?”

“You mean kinda like that saying, ‘Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer?”

“Huh??? Yeah, something like that. I guess?”

“So…Am I a friend or an enemy?” The smile returns in full glory.

“I haven’t decided yet. Damn, what is with you and that damn smile?”

“What?” JC looks confused. “What’s wrong with smiling?” I’m just glad to be away from ‘everything’ for a few days.”

“Oh. Are you always this happy?”

“No, just when I know I’m gonna have a good time.” JC turns towards AJ, “I ‘am’ going to have a good time, right?”

“I hope so.” (I really hope so.) AJ smiles to himself.

“What is that smirk for?”

“What? What smirk?”

JC waves his hand in front of AJ’s face, “That smirk, the one you just had on your face.”

“Oh, I was just thinking.” Again he’s lost in watching the road and daydreaming about just exactly what he’d like to do to JC.

“Dude, either pull over or pay attention. I don’t wanna die just yet.”

“Huh? Oh, shit.” He pulls back in his lane, “We’re almost there anyway.”

“That’s good. I don’t think your mind is really on driving anyway. Where ‘is’ your mind anyway?” JC asks.

“Oh, I was just thinking.”

“Well, she must really be something to put a smile like that on your face.”

“Yeah, ‘He’ is. Or I hope he is anyway.”

“That’s cool man. What? Wait. Did you just say he?” JC stammers.

“Yes, I did. Why? You got a problem with that?”

“Nope,” JC’s smile gets even bigger. “Believe me…I have no problem with that.”

“Good. I’d hate to have to kick your skinny ass.”

“My skinny ass.” JC yelled. “If that isn’t the pot calling the kettle black.”

“What? Where the hell did that come from?”

“No clue.

“Oh, well we’re here.” AJ pulls into the driveway, turns to see JC’s reaction to his house. “So. What ya think?”

JC looks the place over, “Nice, very nice. I could get used to living in a place like this.” He turns to see AJ’s reaction to that comment.

AJ just sits the a bit dumbfounded.

“So…we going in or sitting in the car until the charity event? I’m in desperate need of a shower, you know. I don’t think the good people of Orlando would appreciate a nasty smelling boyband member in their midsts.”

“Ok, damn, are you always this sarcastic?”

“No, usually that would be Chris’ job. I’m the silent, observant one of the group that sleeps all the time remember?”

“Oh, yeah, Big Daddy, right?” Eyebrows raise.

“Yeah, that’s right. And I’ll have you know I earned that name too.”

Aj’s eyes travel down the body before him, “I have no doubt that you did.” When his eyes meet with shimmering blue eyes he immediately turns away.

“Shall we go inside?” JC says, eyeing the man back just as ardantly.

“Yeah, might be a good idea.” (Damn, those eyes are amazing. I could lose myself in them for days and be so happy.)

“Dude, just let me in the house, show me a room to crash in and you can go see your man. I’ve no intention of being a clingy, demanding houseguest. I’ve gotta go through all this shit the guys gave me anyway. They were just throwing shit in these bags, I have no idea what’s in here even.”

“That sucks. I’ll give you a hand if you’d like.”

“Nah, man. You go be with your man. I can understand where you’re coming from.”

“What? Why do you keep saying that? I don’t ‘have’ a man.”

“But…You…you said that you were thinking about a guy in…oh. You want him but you don’t have him. I got ya now.”

"Yeah, something like that.”

“Well, dude. You seem pretty cool to me.”

“Thanks, here’s your room. It has a connecting bathroom. You should have everything you need. If not just let me know and I’ll get it for you.”

“Thanks man. Hey AJ?” JC starts as AJ heads for the door.

AJ stops and turns around, “Yeah?”

“If that guy, you know, the one you like? If he doesn’t come around, then he’s got a serious problem. You seem like a great guy and I’d give my right eye to have a boyfriend like you.”

“Thanks.” AJ’s eyes light up and he comes back into the room. “I can’t really blame him for not returning my feelings though.”

“Why’s that?”

“Cuz, I haven’t told him how I feel.”

“Well, you should. Then if he doesn’t realize what a great guy you are then he must be really thick headed.”

“Oh. Well, I’m not really sure how I feel about him. I don’t know him that well. He’s got one hell of a body and he’s mad talented but I don’t know how well we’d click, you know what I’m saying?”

“Yeah,” JC mused, sitting on the bed, then patting the spot next to him. “I can see why you’re a bit leary, but not all things are as they seem.”

“So…we gonna go through that stuff you brought, or talk about my love life, or lack thereof?”

“Well, actually, I thought maybe you could tell me more about this situation you’re in. Sounds like you really like this guy, but you’re afraid to say anything. Why?"

“Well…it’s…It’s a bit complicated.”

“Why? You like someone, you let them know. The worst that can happen is that they don’t feel the same way and if that’s the case, the guy’s a complete idiot.”

“You really think so?”

“Yes, Alex I do.”

“Cool,” AJ leans in and kisses JC soundly.

***Back at the Airport***

The five members of O-Town get off the plan.

“So who rented the car?” Eric asks.

“Oh please. Like Lou would spring for us getting rental.” Jacob growls.

“Exactly…That’s why there should be a limo waiting in the pickup area.” Ashley smirks.

“I knew there was a reason we had you’re ass in this group.” Jacob grabs Ashley and pulls him into a headlock.

“Ok kids, lets get a move on. We don’t need to start a scene here.” Dan chastises, grabbing Jacob and heading for the door.

“Party pooper.” Trevor snickers.

“What?” Dan spins and faces Trevor.

“Nothing Mom. We’re coming.”

“And that’s why we love him so much, “Eric smirks. ‘”You are so whipped.”

“Whatever man.” Trevor growls, following Dan and Jacob.
