Bookmarklets
are small pieces of Javascript Code that are in the form of a link. They reside in your "Links" folder
that is within your "Favorites" folder. While viewing this very page in Internet Explorer hit the "Favorites" tool bar button and then open the "Link" folder in Internet Explorer. Click and drag a given bookmarklet to the "Links" folder where you release it. The browser will ask you if you're willing to store this potentially dangerous code in the folder [Respond affirmatively]. Now expand the "Links"
tab so it can be seen on your browser toolbar area.
The bookmarklet is now available for use. Sometimes, the function performed is related to the current web
page. With the Explorer Browser open, you click on a bookmarklet link and it performs the stored
function. Listed below are some utilitarian examples for Internet Explorer:
Click & Drag a Link to "Links" folder.
- Date
- Displays the date when the page shown was last modified.
- Enable Right Click
- Resets mouseclicks so they work on pages where this function was disabled.
- Kill Exit Pops
- Stops the current window from launching new windows upon exit. A nuisance with porn sites especially.
- Set Background Black
- Changes the background color of the current page to black.
- Set Background White
- Changes the background color of the current page to white.
- Set Backgrounds White
- Changes ALL backgrounds on the current page to white.
- Set Fontsize 10pt
- Sets all fonts in the displayed document to 10pt.
- Set Fontsize 10px
- Sets all fonts in the displayed document to 10px.
- Set Fontsize 12pt
- Sets all fonts in the displayed document to 12pt.
- Set Fontsize 12px
- Sets all fonts in the displayed document to 12px.
- Set Fontsize 14pt
- Sets all fonts in the displayed document to 14pt.
- Set Fontsize 14px
- Sets all fonts in the displayed document to 14px.

- Scrolls to the top of the current page.
- View Source
- Scrolls to the top of the current page.
- Yahoo! Chat
- This starts Yahoo's Regular Chat [Java not Messenger] in a full sized window.
A handy way to allow for a larger display area.
- Yahoo! ID Online
- Tells you if a given Yahoo! ID is online.
- Yahoo! ID PM
- Will PM a Yahoo! ID using Messenger.
