Incredible India - the government logo and other views!

Incredible India! -

India's tourism ministry has decided to give the country a global brand identity. and its: "Incredible India"

Is this really going to help? IMHO westerners already have an image about India, which is land of Himalayas, Saints, Snake Charmers, Temples, Heat, Palaces, Crowd, Cheap accommodation, Cheap food, long train journeys, pavement sellers, beggars and easy going people. Is this impression going to get any better with a 'brand name'?

1. Well , it

could - depends on what you associate with the new brand name..incredible could mean incredible beauty , incredibly good deal , incredible history ,incredible.....

Agreed, if they stick to the old image, it would be sad.

2. Incredible?????

They could add great people ripping you off everywhere, Fantastic men who dont stop staring at you and trying to touch you, incredible begging everywhere from oon trains to in taxis.
I love India!

3. incredible indeed

Ashok, Ashok Ashok...

:-P

But India IS incredible, we know that, and it's time everyone else knew it too. :) Hey, at least it's not "God's Own Country", ey? (just teasing there).

And Web...I LIKED the old image. that's what drew me there in the first place. But to me, that image IS incredible (incredible beauty, incredible vibrancy, incredible soul, incredible kindness, incredible dysentery, incredibly lecherous repressed Indian men...not ALL Indian men - we can exclude Ashok and many others - incredible history, incredible rip-off artists, incredible food, incredible things IN your food that crawl, incredible gigantic cockroaches, incredible sights, sunsets, temples and mosques, and incredible traffic (this is good, not bad)...

Long Live Incredible India.

7. incredible i believe

i think incredible india is a good catchly line if they put it across well, but they still have along way to go to deserve the status as a global tourism destination, interms of markets and organized transports to incrediable destinations....
