Travelling in India will be a little difficult. The opportunity to meet local women are few and you will only occasionally meet the single woman who is a fellow traveler.

BARS

Most cities in India have nice bars – in the more westernized cities ,there is a wide choice.

The five star hotels in all the cities have nice bars. A bottle of beer can be anything from Rs 120 to 175 here ..but this comes with a rich variety of snacks that leaves you with very little hunger – you do not have to order crisps separately like in a London pub…

You will find it easy to meet people here , fellow travellers or Indians. Chat up and enjoy yourself.

Wine in India is relatively new. Thus if you are particularly fond of wine,bring a couple of bottles from home.

GOING TO THE BARBER

Haircuts are a great experience. At Rs 10 to 25 they are very cheap. Make sure to save some money by getting a haircut when you arrive and just before you leave…that would be about 14 US dollars saved! Buy some books or tapes with that money.

A shave costs about Rs 10 – get it once . It is a different experience from that back home. A head massage costs Rs five additional.

CIGARETTES

Do not bring cigarettes from your country. Local ones are cheap and excellent.
