SOME RENTAL DETAILS: (last updated 07Jan2002)
AVAILABLE: Rentals start on Saturday. Check-in is at 3:30 PM. Check-out the following Saturday by 10:00 AM.
COST: The std. weekly rate is $2950 (holiday periods are $3550), but is variable and depends on the number of people and time of year. A discount is available for non-profit groups. Please phone (919) 846-7466 with questions or special rates, details and requests... Or E-mail us!
OCCUPANCY: No more than eight(8) people, two in each of the four bedrooms are permitted. There is a sleeper sofa which can accomodate two(2) additional people for one night of the week OR for the full week with written permission. This rule is enforced and is due to septic system limitations.
TELEPHONE: Local telephone service is provided. However, all long distance calls must be charged to a personal calling card, a prepaid phone card, or the tenant's own phone service. All phone charges not covered under the local phone service agreement will be chargable to tenant.
DEPOSIT: A monetary security deposit is required and will be returned within seven to ten days of check-out providing all contract provisions, rules and regulations are honored.
CLEANING: The home is cleaned prior to tenant's arrival. Tenant is expected to return the property in the same condition in which it is found, less normal wear and tear. All beds must be covered with the bedspreads provided, baths straightened and cleared of trash, and the kitchen's cups, glasses, dishes, pots and pans cleaned or rinsed and placed in the dishwasher for cleaning.
TRASH: All trash and garbage must be placed in plastic bags during your stay, and must be removed and placed in the exterior trash pick-up container when you check-out and leave the property. Plastic bags with twist ties are provided for this purpose. (Trash pick-up is on Tuesdays.)
SWIMMING: Swimming is great fun, but there are natural and man-made obsticles to beware of when using the lake, both on the bottom (tree trunks, rocks, etc) and the surface (boats, floating debris, etc). Diving is permitted from the diving board only, as that end/corner of the dock faces about nine to ten feet of water depth, and gets deeper still as you head further south, away from the dock. However, shallow areas may be nearby, as the depth can change with severe weather.
BOATING: The boat dock does contain a covered boat lift, but this lift is not available for tenant or guest usage. Tenants must provide their own boat(s). Owner's boats are not part of the rental agreement and must not be used or moved. A tenant's boat may be tied to the west side of the dock, using dock cleats and two free-standing 4x6 posts to help secure it. No dock lines are provided and the tenant/boat owner is wholly responsible for the securing and safety of the boat. There is a public ramp nearby for launching and retrieving boats.
THE ROCK: The property contains a very large rock which acts as a natural bulkhead at the water line. Thee Rock is great for sun-bathing. However, entry into or exit from the lake over and across this rock is prohibited, as the rock near the water (and elsewhere) can be very and unexpectedly slippery. Please use the sandy beaches on either side of the rock out-cropping to enter and leave the water.
REMINDERS: When departing, please leave key(s) on the kitchen counter, as lost and missing keys incur a charge for each replacement. Please remove all bed linens and pillow-cases, and check through all rooms and baths for your personal belongings. There is a fee for shipping and handling when necessary to return your personal belongings...if and when the proper owner can be determined! Also, there is no smoking of any type (pipe, cigar, cigarrette, incense, etc.) permitted inside the house at any time, for any reason.
