Production on this movie started in early February, 2000, in Los Angeles, with some filming being done in San Francisco as well, and wrapped in mid-April, 2000.
- Lopez received $8-9 million, making her the highest-paid Latina actress ever; it also bumped the budget from $10 million to $35 million.
- Brendan Fraser was originally set to star as Jennifer Lopez's love interest, but gave up the lead to star in Bedazzled.
