Last Days

Staring at the emptiness of life
how can someone be so hollow?
Dictating to us what’s wrong from right
When they themselves cannot follow
We are asked to believe in them
That they will show the way
But in truth they’ve condemned us all
To a fate we dare not pay

Stand; take control of your life
Never let them decide
Do whatever your heart believes in
Then at the end of your life
When you walk towards the light
You can say that your life was always

Now as you reach the end of the line
No more chances, no tomorrows
Ask one question “did I do it right?
In the cast of your own shadows
Did you lead the way or follow?
Did you live for the day?
Do you regret the path not walked down?
Was your life betrayed?
