Members Wanted

What do I have to do to join such a fine organization? Be at least 15 years of age. Reside in the response district of our fire department. Attend a monthly meeting and tell us why you want to join. A vote will be held to accept you into membership. No prior firefighting training or experience is required.

What will be expected of me once I become a member? Participate in Emergency Calls. Participate in Training. Attend Meetings. Participate in Fundraising Functions. Attend Department Social Events. Be part of a team to help the citizens of our communities. To enjoy yourself!

What will I gain as a member of the department? The satisfaction of knowing you are helping the community and making a difference in peoples lives. An everlasting friendship and camaraderie with a diverse group of people. Receive FREE training such as First Aid and other very useful skills. The feeling of belonging and being an important part of an organization. As years go on there could be opportunities to drive/operate trucks, chair or serve on many committees or even hold a position as an officer.

What's next? How do I start the adventure?

The next part is up to you! Make the decision to make a change in your life. Add some excitement and camaraderie. Stop in to the Fire Hall any Tuesday night at around 7:00 PM. Talk to any member of our department and we will get you started!

Interested in becoming a member of the Wedgeport & District Fire Department? Anyone age 15 or older, male or female can join. All you have to do is stop at the fire hall on a Tuesday night (practice night). OR attend the monthly meeting, usually held on the first Sunday of the month, at about 7:00 PM. (No meetings in the summer time.) Hope to see you there.
