Alex Smith spoke to Wee Jim`s T.A.  and was thrown directly into the firing line, with the possibility of being asked anything from his opinion of a certain player to his future position at the club.

He spoke about his delight in finally signing Jim Lauchlan and outlined his hopes for a successful future at Tannadice.

The players at Tannadice may have had a problem with team spirit,  but it is encouraging to see that the same was not true behind the scenes, as Alex Smith continued to make light-hearted jokes about the United Commercial Department...with Commercial Department manager Bill Campbell and his Assistant Gordon Grady joining in the fun.
Alex Smith also made a point of explaining his position in terms of Under21 commitments compared to United commitments, saying that Dundee United are always going to be his main concern and he will give them 100% of his attention whilst he is in his capacity as Dundee United manager. (Alex is no longer involved at this level)
However, Alex Smith was quick to point out that his position as an International coach gives him the opportunity to get an early chance to view the talent progressing up from that level.......which can only be a huge benefit to Dundee United, as the Jim Lauchlan signing has already shown!!!
The whole evening was a fantastic opportunity for the fans to see their club from another angle, seeing things more through the eyes of your club's manager....
We have now made this evening an annual event, with much demand from their members for the occasion...they are now looking forward to next years event, but the question is...who is next for the T.A. experience???
