The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Audu Ogbeh has said that the party may draft soldiers to supervise future congresses if the specter of violence in the various chapters
continues.
Ogbeh gave the warning in Abuja, while receiving a delegation of the party that came to the national secretariat from Ebonyi State on a protest mission.
“Honestly, I have already told the president that if it needs two brigades from the army, I will move them in to Ebonyi, into Anambra and into Plateau and wherever, to make sure that the congresses are held peacefully,” he said

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) called a consultative meeting weekend to settle the differences between former military heads of state, General Mohammadu Buhari and General Ibrahim Babangida.
The ACF, which claims to the mouth piece of the North, took the action in other to unify their resources and present a common northern candidate that can win the 2003 presidential election.
To achieve this, the ACF leaders, comprising of northern emirs and chiefs were said to have a closed door meeting with the two former military rulers at the weekend.
ACF chairman, Alhaji M. D. Yusuf officially told reporters that the meeting at the Arewa House was called to reconcile the warring parties in Tiv and Junkun lands.
But other sources said they also tried to reconcile Buhari and Babangida to ensure that the North speaks with one formidable voice
