Early this week, a ridge of high pressure brought fine weather to this district. Apart from some cloudy periods in the morning, clouds thinned out and it was warm with plenty of sunshine in the afternoon. A cold front formed over northern Guangdong crossed over the coastal areas on Friday night. It turned to be overcast with rain on Saturday morning. Winds were relatively gusty and it became cooler. Air temperature dropped from the highest of 29.7 C recorded on Friday afternoon to the lowest of 19.6 C recorded on Saturday morning. Rain eased off in the afternoon that day.
