On Sunday and Monday, Typhoon Krovanh crossed the northern part of
the South China Sea. Between Sunday daytime and Monday morning, strong
winds were recorded over this district. It was also overcast with heavy
squally showers. Krovanh was closest to Hong Kong at 340 kilometres to
the south-southwest on Sunday evening. For the rest of the week, as
affected by a subtropical ridge, it was fine and hot to very hot in the
district. On the other hand, Severe Tropical Storm Dujuan over the
northwestern Pacific was moving west-northwestwards in the general
direction of Luzon Strait. Dujuan was forecast to move closer to the
coastal areas of southeastern China by mid-week next week. Weather over
this district will deteriorate then.
颱風科羅旺於星期日及一橫過南海北
部。星期日日間至星期一上午，本區
普遍吹強風，天陰，並有狂風大驟雨
。科羅旺最接近香港的時間是星期日
傍晚，距離香港西南偏南340公里處掠
過。本週餘下時間，受太平洋高壓脊
影響，本區大致天晴，天氣炎熱至酷
熱。另一方面，在西太平洋北部，強
烈熱帶風暴杜鵑正向西北偏西移動，
大致趨向呂宋海峽；展望杜鵑將在下
週中期移近華南海岸，屆時本區天氣
將會轉壞。
