Under the influence of Typhoon Haitang's outermost subsident air mass, it was very hot over this district early this week. Haitang crossed Taiwan during the day on Monday and landed over Fujian on Tuesday evening. Owing to abundant sunshine for consecutive days, it was very hot over the district. Maximum air temperature of 36.9 degrees was recorded on Tuesday afternoon, that was the highest so far this year. Haitang moved further inland and weakened into an area of low pressure on Wednesday evening. For the next two or three days, air temperature slightly dropped but there were thunderstorms with occasional heavy squally showers. There were hail reports in the district during the thunderstorm on Thursday afternoon. Affected by a weak ridge of high pressure, weather improved and there were sunny periods in the district over the weekend.

受颱風海棠的外圍下沉氣流影響，本區於本星期初天氣酷熱。海棠於星期一日
間橫過台灣，並於星期二傍晚在福建登陸。本區連續多天陽光充沛，天氣酷熱
，星期二下午錄得的最高氣溫為36.9度，是今年以來的最高記錄。海棠進一步
移入內陸，於星期三傍晚減弱為一低壓區。其後兩三日，本區氣溫稍為回落，
但有雷雨，間中有狂風大雨；星期四下午的雷雨，本區更有冰雹報告。受一道
微弱的高壓脊影響，星期六本區天氣好轉，部分時間有陽光。
