There were showers, heavy at times, over Tsing Yi (North) on Saturday morning.

Early and by mid-week this week, a ridge of high pressure brought generally fine weather to this district. It was hot to very hot over the district and air temperature rose to between 32 to 34 degrees in the afternoon. Thursday night, an area of low pressure over the northern part of the South China Sea intensified into a tropical depression. And it again intensified into a tropical storm, named Washi the next night. Washi at first located to the southwest of Hong Kong. Affected by its outermost rainband, there were heavy squally showers in the district on Friday and Saturday. And it was relatively windy and there were sometimes strong winds. Washi landed Hainan on Saturday morning and continued to move westwards. After crossing Hainan, it entered into Beibu Wan that night.

本星期初期及中期，一道高壓脊為本區帶來普遍晴朗的天氣；本區天氣炎熱至
酷熱，下午氣溫高達32至34度。星期四晚上，位於南海北部的低壓區增強為一
個熱帶低氣壓，並於星期五晚上再增強成熱帶風暴，並命名為天鷹。天鷹初時
位於本港西南面，受其外圍雨帶影響，本區於星期五及六有狂風大驟雨；風勢
亦較大，間中吹強風。天鷹於星期六早上登陸海南島後，大致採取偏西方向移
動，橫過海南島，當晚進入北部灣。
