Sunday and Monday, it was mainly fine and hot to very hot, however there was haze. An area
of low pressure over the central part of South China Sea intensified into a tropical
depression on Monday afternoon. It landed over southern Vietnam and weakened into an
area of low pressure on Tuesday. Outermost rainbands of that low pressure brought showers
to the district on Tuesday morning. Nevertheless, there were still sunny periods in the
afternoon. From Wednesday till Friday, a ridge of high pressure brought generally fine
weather to southeastern China. For the district, there was plenty of sunshine and it was
also very hot in the afternoon. A new area of low pressure developed over the central part
of South China Sea and intensified into a tropical depression on Friday morning. That evening
it further intensified into a tropical storm, named Vicente. Under the combined effect of
the ridge of high pressure over southeastern China and Tropical Storm Vicente, it was rather
windy during the weekend with winds up to fresh to strong force. Even there was occasional
rain, squally at times. Vicente moved west-northwestwards or northwestwards, in the general
direction of Hainan.
星期日及一，本區大致天晴，天氣炎熱至酷熱，亦有煙霞。位於南海中部的一
個低壓區於星期一下午增強為熱帶低氣壓，並於星期二在越南南部登陸及減弱
為一低壓區；該低壓區的外圍環流於星期二早上為本區帶來驟雨，雖然如此，
下午仍部分時間有陽光。星期三至五，一道高壓脊為中國東南部帶來普遍晴朗
的天氣；本區方面，陽光充沛，下午天氣酷熱。於南海中部新形成的低壓區於
星期五晨早增強為一熱帶低氣壓，並於晚上增強為一熱帶風暴，命名為韋森特
。受到中國東南部的高壓脊及熱帶風暴韋森特的共同影響，本區於週末期間的
風勢頗大，普遍風力達清勁至強風程度，且下午起間中有雨或狂風驟雨。韋森
特向西北偏西至或西北移動，朝著海南島方向進發。
