A dry northeast monsoon brought fine weather to this district early this week. Air
temperature also slightly dropped. Air temperature of only 22 degrees was measured early
in the morning on Sunday and Monday. It was fine and dry during the day and relative
humidity maintained to be below 50 per cent. Tuesday, a broad cloud band covered southeastern
China. It was mainly cloudy and there were sunny periods during the day in the district. From
Wednesday to Friday, under the influence of a ridge of high pressure, it was generally fine, dry
in the afternoon. Over the weekend, another northeast monsoon began to affect the distric, it
became cloudy with sunny intervals and some haze. On the other hand, an area of low pressure in
the vicinity of Xisha intensified into a tropical depression on Friday afternoon, named Kai-Tak.
It further strengthened into a severe tropical storm on Saturday night. Kai-Tak slowly moved
westwards or west-northwestwards, towards offshore areas of Vietnam.
一股乾燥的東北季候風於本星期初為本區帶來晴朗的天氣，氣溫亦稍為下降
；星期日及一清晨氣溫只有22度，日間天晴乾燥，相對濕度維持在百分之五
十以下。星期二，一道廣闊雲帶覆蓋華南；本區大致多雲，日間部分時間有
陽光。星期三至五，受一道高壓脊影響，本區大致天晴，下午天氣乾燥。週
末期間，另一股東北季候風開始影響本區，本區多雲，短暫時間有陽光，亦
有幾陣煙霞。另一方面，位於西沙附近的低壓區於星期五下午增強為一熱帶
低氣壓，命名為啟德，並在星期六晚上增強為強烈熱帶風暴；啟德緩慢向西
或西北偏西移動，趨向越南海岸。
