Sunday and Monday, a broad area of low pressure brought some showers and thunderstorms to this district. During mid-week, a ridge of high pressure affected the district. It was fine with abundant sunshine throughout the day. Also, it was hot to very hot in the afternoon. Hot to very hot weather persisted later this week under the influence of a southwest airstream.
