| Simba was aquired on the spur of the moment kind of thing. He began our newest venture of getting into dachshunds. We raise Boxers at the moment. We went to an Amish farm in Middleberry to see some Boxers that they had available as they were in the process of moving. They had several different breeds of puppies available. Our daughter saw a very tiny male Chihuhaha that she wanted. "Please mommy please!! I want a little puppy for my very own" This male chi fit in the palm of my hand and he was Continental Kennel Club registered, my first thought was "What am I going to do with him?" I asked if she had anything else available that was AKC registered, she told me she had a 4 month old Doxie boy and a Yorkie, and out she came with this puppy. The first thing I said was "thats a dachshund?". I had never seen a Wirehaired Doxie before, let alone one that was wheaten colored. He was so cute and very unusually colored. I remember haveing a Smooth Red Doxie girl as a child named "Heidi" and she was my first dog. I have so many good memories of her, so "what the heck why not", and "Simba" came into our lives. When he is outside playing with the other dogs and people see him, the first thing they say is "THATS NOT A BOXER!!!", but he sure thinks he is!!! He is the king of the jungle, Simba may not have the best pedigree in the world but you cant beat his temperment. He is a great little guy, with a nice head, great topline, tail set, his bite is decent and he has a beautiful coat. He is standing at stud to approved standard sized or tweenie bitches only. He carries for red piebald/black and and tan double dapple/red dapple/black and tan dapple/and black and tan. He should produce both smooth and wirehaired coats. |
