Dress-Up
Dress-up is one of the most simple yet rewarding activities to set up for your children. Kids learn role-playing. They experiment with color and texture. They practice fine motor skills with buttons and other fasteners. They practice language skills. The list goes on and on.
Most of our dress up items come from garage sales.
Be careful about stereotypes in this play area! Remember it is all pretend. It is O.K for Jenny to be a construction worker or Johnny to be the Mom or either to be an alien creature. The costumes are temporary and just in fun!
Additional items can be added to the dress up area for spccial theme days such as magic wands during a fantasy unit.
