This is your standard thoughts on the bishies, plus whatever comments I have to say about them.
Aya's flower means "purity" and Abyssinian Kitties are generally playful and active. They're shorthairs. That's one thing I find cute about Weiss.. Not only do they have their kitties personalities, but they have their hair length, too.
Anywhoo, Aya's been kind of billed as Weiss' little group leader, even though he has the least amount of seniority. I can sum the whole concept up in one phrase: "Who died and made HIM persia?" Aya's not the boss... He's just pushy. The whole reason he's in Weiss is because Persia will arrange for Aya-chan to be treated in the police hospital as long as he's there. (The paycheques pay for the porsche and for Katana-maintenance, I guess) I'd also say he's a straightman, but . . . he's too stubborn and pushy for that.
Yohji's flower means "mature charm" and was named after the latin word for male genitals... because the ancient romans were dirty minded and thought that Cattelyas ressembled.. you know. His kitty is a longhair. Balinese kitties are an intelligent bunch, they follow their owners around, 'talk', jump onto their owner's lap, and generally act pretty dog-like, affectionate and loyal.
Yohji is probably the only member of Weiss who's timeline either doesn't add up, or he's the only closet Genius in Weiss. Think about it. He used to be a detective. Which means he must have at LEAST gone to college. Then he had a bit of a career. And he's been in Weiss since he was 20 or so. THAT MEANS that he graduated COLLEGE around age 18. 18! When most people are fresh out of highschool, he's done COLLEGE. He's smarter than he lets on, that Yohji.
Yohji is the guy to get that questionable document or shady video that just so happens to have the vital clue in it. He's also been elected "Most likely to sleep in and arrive for his shift late" but how many idiots does it take to man a flowershop at 9am? In one episode, he has to go and find Omi to tell HIM it's time to open up shop. He's got a weakness for women, but an even bigger weakness for Asuka look-alikes.
Ah, Ken. His Gentians mean: "Sweet be thy dreams" when closed, and "I look to heaven" when fringed. Siberian kitties are loving and playful. They are a longhaired breed.
For the most part, Ken is Weiss' straightman. Withought him as a reference of normality, we wouldn't realize how extreme his teammates can be. He makes them funnier. This also makes him a great clueless Uke or love interest in fanfics. He's a bit of a hopeless romantic, though. He just lacks the guts to approach women he likes and face rejection, like Yohji does.
I figure that he's got about as much education as Aya does: Highschool. If he was a J-league pro at age 16 or so (if he joined Weiss 'two years ago' at age 17) they couldn't have tutored 3 more years of school, plus have him attend practices and games and Media events and such all at the same time could he? I figure he went Omi's route and finished Highschool as part of Weiss, just last year. (Does that mean he was in Omi's school?)
Freesia, the flower popular for the scent in bath products, represents sweetness. And I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Freesia-scented bath products experience a surge in popularity after Weiss fans learn of their existence, and buy the stuff trying to smell like Omi.
But anyway. Bombay kitties are easygoing, and like to be petted. They're shorthairs.
If I could summarize Omi in a song, I'd be tempted to use "Baby face, you've got the cutest little baby face..." but I can't remember all the words. Omi's uniform looks a lot like My highschool uniform. An Adage that would summarize Omi is "When in doubt, ask a teenager." He's the typical teenage computer geek who can hack into the evil dictatorial govnernment's computer network and even program the VCR!
Omi has by far the wierdest history of the whole damned cast. I tried to explain the various characters of Weiss to a friend of mine (in an attempt to get him to join my RP) and by the time I'd finished with Omi... his reaction was "You've GOT to be kidding. All that for one kid? How old is he again?" When I told him Omi was 17, we both burst out laughing.
Well, that's about it. I'll do Scherient and Kritiker sometime.
