Mermaid

Frolicking along through the weekend haze, Trying to drown Old Misery's daze. A `Mermaid' appeared right out of the clear! Or was it just my weekend beer? With fun and laughter she did glide Pushing Old Misery to the side. Wow, what a vivacious diamond I have here! Or was it just my weekend beer? Warm and tempting did she weave. Smiles and friendship she did leave. Oh tell me this I ask abyss, Can cupid's Arrows ever miss? I held back on my liquid cheer To determine - if it was my weekend beer. With a heart and mind that is clear, Now I know it wasn't my weekend beer!

Love’s Bite

Its sting has no cure. So beware of this BUG! No one can escape It’s venomous tug! Visions of reality Are laid to waste. Profound by its honey Food has no taste. Mountains move easier Than breaking it’s hold. Wisdom is folly Within it’s hold. Hearken the message In truth I tell. Beware of this BUG! I'm under its spell.

Teddy Bear

Capacious and full of care Is her Teddy Bear. Inner secrets it does hold All that's within her soul yet untold. To her sorrows it listens with no sleep, While her heart does pour out and weep. Stalwart it enjoys being crushed with hugs When life releases love's unending tugs. Oh to converse with this friend to find What is upon her precious heart and mind! To create in her a brand new light, With peace and love I'll set its sights.

Dawn’s Light

Small and petite; Beauty so complete! Splendor and grace; A smiling face. Flowers to share, For you I care. Oh precious sight, A new day's light.

Oh Little Jewel

Small and graceful are the lines. Shapes and angles perfect to the mind. By yourself beauty is there on hold; With directed energy galactic visions do unfold! Hearts are warm while in your glow, For what you perspicaciously emit is no show. Oh little jewel! What a precious find! You, I will always hold, in my heart and mind!

The LOOK

While talking one lazy day To a friend I did happen to say; "I am hooked, She's got the look!" He asked me what I've seen. For as he was puzzled by what I mean; "I was hooked. And she's got the look." Her eyes are pure and simple Revealing what's in the soul's temple. They weave a captivating spell That pierces the heart's protective shell. Her smile is as pure as gold. My heart needs not be twice told. That she may very well control, The path that my life does stroll. Then my friend after a while Said with a wise old smile. "She's got you hooked, Cause you've got the look!"

Love’s Awakening

With darkness all around I heard its subtle sound. I could not just turn around Its existence was wanting to be found. In a brown study way I found its light Dim and hidden from obvious sight, Encased in life's merciless blight. Pleading freedom, to give it flight! Reflectively in its embrace I fell It casts an everlasting spell. Rockets and flares just barely tell, Pure rapture did it impel!

Love

Because I can't stop thinking of YOU Created this poem I did for YOU. `LOVE' In the darkest of the night it beamed so bright. A jewel so radiant and rare, With beauty that none can compare! In striving to obtain it was plucked from sight. So darkness began to weave its wretched blight. I searched the heavens and saw it there. Woe! So near, so far, it’s just not fair! To restrain from my reach, While darkness closes in on every breach. Oh radiant jewel can there be A way, a place for you and me, To conquer darkness and its blight; To live in everlasting light?

Your Smile

When within the room it appears Shattering loneliness oppressive spheres. Lifting spirits to a high Even though it’s just passing by. Flowers pale to its splendid grace. The sun and stars dim to give it space. In its natural state, no fakes! From the heart it’s meaning takes. Through your eyes the soul does show The true meaning, of your lustrous glow. Warmth and caring of others is your stand, Sharing what was given by God's own hand.

Jewel

In a pit did she lay, Just a pebble I dare not say! They did their jobs with unperceiving sight Sending her on a vapid flight. Trammeled from an exemplary view Why did they do this to you? Is everyone blind as a fool? This is no mere pebble but a jewel! Then one day came hope I thought, When for gleam she was sought. But with insipid settings did they play; Skipping her across waves to where she now lay. With gibing torrents she is hued. Why are they doing this to you? Is everyone blind as a fool? This is no mere pebble but a jewel! To polish and shape her I will aspire. Establishing her beauty to where all would admire. Embedding her in a gold lace ebony tree, Portraying her as the gem she was meant to be. For the fools in their haste could not see; The priceless jewel she been pleading to be. Not everyone is as blind as a fool, I see this priceless JEWEL!

A Look at Love

What is the key to LOVE I plea? For all need it so desperately! More than feelings of the heart that play. If taken right is forever here to stay. Forced it will surely flee, Selfishly hoarded it can not be. Alone it will not stand, It binds more than we understand. Many faces does it hold Here's one you've never been told. Love is now for all time to come A microsecond back a memory it becomes. Forward in the future its hope you see. To hold it just cannot be. So keep this in mind -- It is this love I intend to find.

From Me to You

These roses I send for you To keep your heart from turning blue. Though they're late by a day or two, It's not because I've forgotten you. Each bud you count is to say Something about you that is good in every way. For these roses splendid they may be Can't touch the beauty I see in thee. Mere words could not have expressed Your thoughts, your heart from which I'm blessed!

Are YOU the ONE?

Has Cupid's arrows struck me blind? Are you the one my heart seeks to find? A smile that fills your winsome face. A body that moves with liquid grace. Oh tell me can this be? This vision of a queen I see. Your eyes so clear and refreshingly true. That sparkle like the sun on the morning dew. A heart that's full of love and compassion; Not just the local perfidious fashion Oh! Can it be? YOU’RE the one for me! My heart does scream with no protest With your hand I truly would be blessed!

Three Roses

These three roses I'm giving to you; Tells the way my heart feels for you. They tell of the time that you’re on my mind. Day - Night - plus what ever spare time I can find! They tell the ways I think of you. In the past with memories that last. In the present where loneliness rules, "I MISS YOU!" And in the future where dreams wait to come true. They tell of many different things With lots of different words. But what I really want to say, Can be said in just three little words. I LOVE YOU!!!

Into a Rose

Look into a rose, What do you see? A flower or marriage’s secret which would it be. The plant as a whole you must take To understand the importance that’s at stake. Thorns Oppose your taking hold As in life, so the stories been told The blossoms pedals so soft they glow. Look hard for the secret I am trying to show. Its colors so alive, so Vivid, so pure As must your heart be for it to endure. The plant as a whole a beauty unsurpassed Can you see the secret? One more clue I will cast. With patience and proper care; Eternally it revives As does the marriage; you must always strive. What the secret? You’ve read every clue. It’s in plain sight, marriage’s very own glue.

The Wedding Ring

While pondering one idle day, Upon this ring my eyes could hear it say. Listen and guard this thought, Of marriage and wisdom that cannot be bought. When I was formed and in my making, Conjoint with two ends for the taking. Clasped together in my bend, You find no beginning, no end. Puzzled for what it meant I inquired its message sent. Acknowledging it unfolded to say Its light in my heart will always stay. A line for the couple it stands, Tied together, but having their own paths. But as a circle it's meaning grows For being married this wisdom should show. Love holds together, it's seams it seals. Of equals for which there are no appeals. Without love and its grace to paste, A ring becomes a line; its meaning goes to waste.

Friendship Seed

Answer this petition I pray of you, What makes a friend that is true? Is it being honest and true? Maybe showing a little flattery too? Is it being able to listen when one is blue? Sharing what your heart expels to you? How about laughing and joking in fun, Or just plain talking under the sun? I know its not stepping on one's toes Nor one-sided will it grow. Are we friends, me and you? Flattery I did bestow on you Characterizing qualities I see in you. My intention I clearly laid out. With respect to you I gave my `Seed' To have a friend is all I need. Just a friend in need Sowing all my friendship seed.

Noble Clown

What's behind the mask of a clown? Is it what the surface sounds? Jovially cheating laughter in all to be found; Crushing frowns that turn light brown. Steering crowds away from their blues Thru threading life's garroting bowl. With compassion from his soul To direct it's antics with his clues With life's pressures from the start; Can it meticulously be, that he, Has found the answer of this anguished sea That tears and gnaws upon the heart? Before enchanting seeds of mirth will take hold Revealing to others first must conclude. To reap this harvest of propitious attitude And fill the spirit with unselfish gold.

Need of Confidence

Let me tell a story, it starts off blue. Like for many others, it’s all so true. Held in a state of low esteem, Life's hand was dealt, shattering dreams. Within its disillusion his worth he thought was not. So an angel was sent by God, who hadn't forgot. Assiduous compassion this angel did use. To explore Sundry talents and values he seem to ignore. Still he abstain to open his mind! Again this angel with a heart so kind; Proclaimed with vehemence `WHAT you think is WHAT you are!’ So have faith; BELIEVE; you'll go far!

Letting Go

The hardest move in life Is letting go without strife. Ravenous fears and emotions play; Thru deluded thoughts alone you stay. With anguished hurt you try to hold Only to tear a greater hole! Oh, is there a way I cry, Just to be able to say goodbye? In the key to letting go, True love you must show. Caring more for the other Letting God's hand be the cover. Then time will heal And a friendship you will seal.

The Mirror

Look in a mirror, what do you see? Is it what others perceive; Or what your mind makes you believe? When is a smile a smile? Or a frown just a frown? Does one's body betray its thoughts? Can one really tell what's on the heart; Expressing to others without showing the part? I tell you the mirror doesn't lie. It has no motive to slant its eye. So then take its message Use it to your advantage. Make others see what you feel Then life's meaning will you seal.

A Moment of Life

Moment upon moment is all you see. The future you don't know; And the past is but a memory sea. Take control of the moment and you will grow! Though ironic as it may seem. It takes darkness and pain For joy's light to gleam. Happiness is here for you to claim. So open your eyes to pierce this gray. Look for the moment to make this your day!

A Gold Mine!

I met a lady from this place she be. How immensely lucky can one be? Though only a few times did we see To tell this feeling she created in me. These words I must write for her to see. `Imagine the exhilarating feeling you have when after a long dry spell there comes a good rain causing the grass and trees to expel the fragrance of life. That's the feeling that overcomes me when ever I hear her friendly voice. With eyes that are both refreshing and tranquil to a soul. Top that with the long wavy hair and a smile that could turn the coldest iceberg to a flaming sun.' It would be presumptuous to believe She would go out with the likes of me. To take her on a romantic spree, Dinner for two and dance till are hearts were free. Oh what a night that could be! Exploring both heart and mind Would I find a real gold mine? Though I'm reluctant from events of late, I know she the one I would like to date.

One Set Apart

Just one grain of sand On a dessert land. Or one glimmering light In a star lit night. Perplexing my thoughts may be Your smiling face I cannot flee! What sets you apart? To captivate my heart. Can this quandary on my heart's door; Mean your the one I'm looking for? Or in it should I shy, And let time pass me by?

Reflections

Days gone by, they seem like years! Eyes are swollen from heart-felt tears. Memories of when the light did shine In a chimera that was greater than wine. Curse your timing, Oh Hand of Fate, To present this jewel, when it is too late! Oh to turn back the hands of time! Just to hold her hand in mine. Then in heaven would we be! This precious queen and me.

Call For Hope

Oh rapacious demon of the mind What causes your nefarious kind To cozen this one's very soul To steal his visions, his goal? Light once shined upon his face, Endowing life with expanding grace. There was nothing that couldn't be done Knowing his love was the only one. Then darkness one day did spread It’s lugubrious web on his head. Stealing the gleam from his eye, In his gloom; He tried to die! Disperse oh clouds of lone despair And with life's compassion do repair Bring him back to verve with love to spare Cheating the death from this demon's snare Pierce his blinded soul clear through Destroying this ponderous blow that made life blue. To see that light still lives true But through other vessels he must view.

Loneliness

Within these walls it stray Stalking random victims for its prey Weaving tormenting fears of gloom Closing in to leave no room Oh is there help at the door For it has me on the floor It’s incarcerating power within me pours For in crowds still it roars. It fetters the mind with flickering shadows Leaving the heart discarded and shallow Oh is there help I implore For take it I can do no more Help is there to contend and bind Open your eyes, don't be daunt and blind From the start with open hands Help did offer to assist your stand For in this sphere both far and near Friends you may not know hold you dear

Jealousy

Love once did freely flow With freedom that allowed it to grow As each day filtered away Intertwining hearts did it play Chide this demon's snare I say That wedge its presents here to stay Suffocating love's fervent flow With mistrusts did it grow While pursuing help, this light was shed Think of a candle. Picture it in your head The candle is a lady and its flame is her love Lighted she burns with undying love Now the demon's name; the glass we'll call If over the candle the flame will fall Take heed my friend I must share Let love have some breathing air

Cold Feet

Uncanny as it may seem I'm taken by a dream. Answer this beckoning call Before I break and fall! She stands with perfect air The fragrance of her beauty is everywhere. Thru limped brown eyes Its spell holds me while time flies. Tell me it is not to late To twist the hand of fate. And find what it would take To catch her heart and get a date!

Giving Up!!!

Just a rock in sinking sand On this island alone I stand. With no love to hold on, Is there a reason to go on? Try as I might, I can do no right. Life keeps dealing its ponderous blight! Where's a thread to hold on? Is there a reason I should go on? Love I share, there's no one there It passes on into thin air. Trying I am to hold on I need a reason to go on. Is my nature so vitriolic in what they see? How wanton I must seem to be? Oh heart of mine, Why ponder on? I have no reason to go on!

Deadly Pearl

A smile, a wink, a friendly drink; An open port to say what you think. For fun to break the steady grind Too late it snared you blind! It plays the strings of the heart Wily encoding all who take part. Integrated and hidden among innocent thoughts It weaves a web in which all are caught. It opens doors to emotions of destruct Leading hearts on a road of distrust Barring the love of your mate you find It leads you down its path so blind. Lord! Help us all to see right thru This demon's plot that causes hearts to unglue For its the most dangerous of all Causing all it touches to come to a fall!

Life’s Nimbuses

Jerks, assholes, and bitches; Only difference is in their britches! With traits and actions so trite The list of descriptions is out of sight. To name a few I'll try to do. Stratagem, mountebank, gudgeon, and cozen; With amour-propre they think they are chosen. They distend in circles with impugn dung. Befuddled they emerge like old fables sung. Full of avidity and rapacious thoughts Concern for others is all but lost. As long as their parsimonious ego has fun They think their number one. Jerks, assholes, and bitches; One of life's greatest glitches!

Pain of Love

Why torment me so, Oh Hand of Fate, To leave my heart in such a state? When I was a young and handsome sight You placed in my heart a love so bright. No shadow could err befall me, you see, For by my side, this love would always be. Then the dark clouds did you heave and boil! Ripping up love, tearing my heart with your fatal coil! So held in this dark and lugubrious gloom, Life for me was running out of room! Then from LOVE and all its form did I run. Fearing it far worse than any gun. Till now with Cupid's piercing arrow You tore my heart open to love's sorrow. Stealing my every thought my every dream, For this love every fiber of my heart does scream! This love eats at my soul, as for blood would a leach. Yet you hold this love just out of reach! To hold and cherish this love would I endow Giving freely from the heart all God would allow. So, Oh Hand Of Fate, for this love, I plea! Or to hiding you'll force this heart to flea. For the pain, you see, would be Far to great for me!
